Arrival Story: Bobby started life somewhere in the Central Valley and found himself at the Merced Animal shelter. He had a bad kennel cough and was miserable, his days were numbered. The Milo Foundation took him in, and two foster families helped get him to better health and to get neutered. We wanted to short-term foster a dog in order to "try out" being owners. Needless to say, we couldn't return him to Milo, and adopted him in October, 2004. All 3 of us are working hard on his socialization skills with people. He loves the Milo Foundation (www.milofoundation.org) for rescuing him, Birgit for taking care of him (www.walk-n-wag.net), Paul for training him (www.siriuspup.com), the Point Isabel Dog Owners (www.pido.org) and the ShyK9 group for supporting his parents (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shy -k9s/). I also take agility and rally obedience classes at the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society.

Bio: Hi from Bobby! I love my parents. They don't have sheep, but they like to run on trails. Living in Berkeley means weird things for me, like raw food diet and hearing about doggie acupuncture. I like fast little bitches that want to chase me in Point Isabel.

We all miss each other. They're in Kauai, and I'm at Camp Fourpaws (www.campfourpaws.com). Luckily, I don't have a keen sense of the passage of time...

Don't you think it's rude when people have a phone conversation when you're in the room? I do. If my parents answer the phone, or call someone when I'm in the same room, I run out! I come back the moment they get off the phone, but I just want them to know how rude it is. I never use the phone when they're around.
I'm in intermediate obedience class at the Humane Society. I'm doing very well. There's a very cute young Siberian husky in the class, and she wants to play with me.

Such fun today! My mom and I ran down to the lake (we won't name it so she won't get in trouble), and we swam together. For some reason, I don't feel as comfortable swimming when I'm in the water with her. We went to the far side of the lake and toodled around in the water for a bit, and she swam to the middle a few times. I alerted her that someone was nearby, and she overheard that person calling on a radio for the ranger. So we ran! At this lake, people can't swim where dogs swim, and dogs can't swim where people swim, so we were committing an infraction when we swam together. No ranger can keep up with us, though, and we didn't get nabbed. We ran around the park for a bit and then ran home. My mother plays fast and loose with the law.
