Arrival Story:
In 1992 I was living by myself and volunteering for a local humane society when they had made an arrest on a pitt bull fighting ring.They found Sophie who was less than a year old bloodied and aggressive. She had Barbed wire fencing embedded around her neck. They were using it for a collar..she was being used as a "BAIT" dog. Which to my understanding is how they train the Pitts to fight. For the first few months she would bite me and was very fearful and shy. Just when I was about to give up she just one day up and became herself. She is now the most loving doggie in the world. She loves kids and never has a problem with any foster brother or sister that comes. She always takes them under her wing and shows them the ropes!! She is now about 13 yrs old and moving slower :( I love her so much !!!

Bio:
Sophie has been with me so long she is part of my family ... She is a gentle creature.. One night her brother Saul was being attacked by neighbors dogs and the "wolf" in her came out. I have never seen her act the way she did that night. The dog was standing over Saul swinging him left and right when Sophie came out of nowhere and plowed into this dog I heard an audiable "Thud" I ran and got Saul and we all ran in the house. Sophie really saved her brother that night and maybe me to!!!
