Yesterday morning, I was feeling fine and I was a happy Yorkie. During the day, I started not feeling well and had diarrhea. Within an hour, I was passing blood and mom took me to the vet immediately.
They did some tests and x-rays and there was nothing special going on in my tummy. All of a sudden, I fainted and the vet ran to give me oxygen. I came to and I was fine after that.
To be on the safe side, they told mommy I should be transferred to ER for the night and I should be fine the next day. I had pancreatitis and hemorraging gastroenteritis. I had fluids, meds and I was doing better.
At 1:30 am, mom got a phone call from the ER doctor. He told mom I needed plasma and mom agreed. At 4am, she called back and she was told I was doing better. At 7:30am, mom was told I had gone down and should be transferred to Internal Medicine doctor.
He did a sonogram of my tummy and it showed a very sick liver, a huge pancreas and fluid in my tummy. He took a sample of the fluid and what came in the syringe was blood. So, he told mom that was very bad. He analyzed the blood and the result came as liver cancer. Seems like a tumor ruptured in my tummy during the afternoon yesterday and that's why things happened so suddenly.
Mom decided to let me go with the angels this morning. She stayed with me and I crossed the Bridge hearing mom talk in my ear. I heard her say that I was her boy and she loved me. She also said she was going to see me again and to wait for her.
I am pain free, but not mom. For right now, her heart hurts a lot. Before crossing the Bridge, I looked at mom and put my paw on her hand...I love you too, mom.
Your boy, Angel Spud Muffin Yorkie
