Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 1st 2002
Likes: He loved to go running with me, loved kids, napping on his 'couch' in the barn.

Pet-Peeves: he had none, nothing annoyed this dog.

Favorite Toy: He wasn't one for toys much

Favorite Food: he LOVED elk

Favorite Walk: he used to go running with me all around the rural roads nearby our old place, he was smart enough to stay down on the shoulder of the road.

Best Tricks: generally the most intelligent dog I've ever known, never bothered teaching silly tricks.

Arrival Story: I moved to Alberta, into a house with my sister and her roommate/friend. I started taking Rocky running with me everyday and fell in love with him. Roommate moved out and couldn't take him and asked me to ""OKAY!!", little did she know I was stashing away money in preparation to buy him off her if I had to.
A few years later, I'm living on a farm with my new husband... VERY new, it's a day after our wedding and we head to my sister's farm for a bbq... A storm rolls in, a heavy storm... We could watch it go over our area while at my sisters place, the lightning bolts looked like they could have even landed at our farm.
Bruno (Rocky's buddy, our mastiff mix) was TERRIFIED of storms, Rocky was a bit as well but not as bad.
They weren't home when we came back around 9 pm, they were last seen in the barn but a boarder left the barn door open cause she couldn't find our third dog and thought he might be outside still. I knew in the pit of my stomach something wasn't right, Rocky and Bruno were ALWAYS at our beck and call.
Two days later, after MUCH searching from my husband and I, friends, and boarders... It was quite the impressive team search effort, we contacted all the shelters nearby... Talked to school bus drivers, graders, the airport, police etc... A friend who drives truck said he seen Bruno's body on the side of the hwy about 4 km south of us. On the day we were to leave on our honeymoon.
I felt that Rocky had to be alive and closeby, I jumped in my jeep and blasted out of here... I searched the belt of earth between the twinned highway for a 10 km stretch north to south of us... I was sure he also tried to cross the highway and knowing how smart Rocky was, he would be too scared to run in front of the cars.
I had flyers made, and pasted them all over the place, gas stations, corner stores, motels, pubs etc... I begin to think someone seen him wandering around, maybe right on the highway near his dead buddy... He was such a friendly dog and so beautiful, I don't have a hard time beleiving he was taken and kept. We'll never know for sure, but I like to think he's out there making some family as happy as he and Bruno has made us.
This was August 18, 2008 we lost them for certain... When we found Bruno. I still miss my boys every single day, some days definately worse than others.

Bio: Before I got him, he was in the shelter twice. Born in a shelter and returned there once, that's where he was found by the man who gave him to my roommate... He did all his obedience training, did a darn good job too.

Forums Motto: I'll never wander from your sight
