Growing UP!

time and stuff

I don't get it! I wake up the same time every day and now mom changes the rules! For the last week, when I wake her up, she tells me "shhhh" and "settle down" instead of taking me outside like she usually does. I don't understand what daylight savings is all about, all I know is that it makes my mom grumpy in the morning when I"m just doing my job by waking her up on time!. I don't get it.
One good thing that has happened lately is that since i'm really good about only going potty outside now and never having accidents anymore, I get to sleep outside of my crate and on mom and dad's bed! It's so much fun and mom says I"m a really good snuggle buddy and don't move too much at night. She was real proud of me. Yup, I'm getting better and I understand a lot more stuff now.
One more really cool thing is mom says I'm too skinny so I get some really yummy treats called "Satin Balls". Even though I am allowed to eat all the crunchy food I want, I'm usually not that interested in food and would rather be playing so I guess that's why mom calls me her skinny boy. Mom made this really yummy stuff up and gives some to me everyday to "put meat on my bones". I don't care why I get it cause it sure is good!

new places to hide

I've discovered a great new place to hide if you don't want to be put in a crate or just want to "get away from it all". It's under mom and dad's bed! I may be very tall for my breed, but I'm all legs so I fit under there very easily and can get to the back super fast so that there is no way I can be reached. It's a really good way to keep mom from leaving me to go to work. I stick my little nose out and tease her and when she tries to reach under and grab me, I scurry to the back! I think it's a great game, sometimes mom laughs and sometimes when she's late she doesn't think it's so funny. I think it's funny ALL the time. It's also fun to steal Nisei's treats and go there so she can't steal them back.

Growing up

My mom and dad say I'm growing up so fast, but I still think I'm little. I love being the baby of the family and milk it for all it's worth, and it's usually worth a lot!!! I try my best to behave, but geez, I'm still a puppy, they can't expect me to be good ALL THE TIME!!!. Nisei is the good one and I'm the trouble maker, but my mom doesn't care, she thinks my back-talk is funny and I'm really good at making my faults look cute. I've been learning all sorts of new things lately, like sit and lie down and stay and shake. I'm pretty good at them when mom or dad has a treat in their hand, otherwise, what's the point??? My absolute favorite thing to do is go for walks. I will go anywhere, and if I get tired, I just have to whine a little and my mom will carry me, what could be better than that??? Yup, I love my life, I got a mom and dad that love me, a sister dog who plays with me and cats I get to chase around. Life couldn't be any better!
