 Quick Bio:
Likes: Anything that fits into his cavernous mouth in an attempt to satisfy his oral fixation.

Pet-Peeves: Going outside to do our business if it's cold or rainy outside. TPLO surgery.

Favorite Toy: Basketballs he pops within minutes of receiving. Stuffed adn frozen Kongs. The Teaser Ball. Attacking the pool sweep in an attempt to save the world!

Favorite Food: My mom is a health nut so I eat only the best- Eagle Pack Holistic. If you read the ingredients on 99% of dog foods on the market, you'd barf... kinda like I do when I eat underwear or toxic plants! Check out dogaware.com for more info on food

Favorite Walk: Around the hood- but not until my bionic knees are all healed.

Best Tricks: Popping basketballs, using the pool's jets as his personal bidet, Recognizing what toy you have asked him to bring you- ball, basketball, bone etc... Pathetically staring at you until you tuck him in under his Vellux blanket on his bed.

Arrival Story: My husband and I took a few tests to match us to the breed best suited for our lifestyle and personality, and an American Bulldog and an Anatolian Shepherd were our best matches. We searched high and low for a reputable breeder in Texas but came up short. We finally found Maximus in Ontario, Canada through Razor's Edge Bulldogs. He comes from working dog lines and was the biggest boy of the bunch. No one else wanted him because he is mostly white- their loss and our treasure! He is just so damn cute! We flew him in from Canada and he has been enjoying the nice Texas climate ever since... especially when we let him get in the pool or attack the hot tub's bubbles!
While he isn't the brightest bulb, he makes up for it in personality! We laugh everyday at Max and could not imagine life without him and his silly antics. He loves us to pieces, and also loves his baby sister Bellona. Max really wants us to hurry up and have some kids for him to wrestle with and tug on his ears. We hope to give him his wish next year, but until then, he is and always will be our first born baby!

Bio: The American Bulldog is a true working dog. Throughout its long history, this powerful bulldog has been a tremendous farm and home guardian against predatory animals and human intruders. Other uses of the dogs are as personal protection and Schutzhund sport dogs, as show and weight-pull dogs and as Child-loving, ball chasing, family companion. In the near future, because of their talents, The American Bulldog will be used increasingly as police K-9 dogs, handicapped assistance and as therapy dogs.
The breed's general character is one that is outgoing, yet quiet; easily trainable, yet sometimes stubborn; highly affectionate, yet highly protective but NOT overly aggressive. Their physical appearance is attention-grabbing and intimidating, having characteristics similar to, yet distinct, from their bull-bred cousins the Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier, the Bullmastiff and the English Bulldog.

Forums Motto: I'm not a dog, I'm a goat.

Just a short 5 months after my first TPLO, I had my second surgery on 10.27.05. You know what this means? No playing, no walks, no nothing but being locked up in my ex-pen for hours on end. It sucks. Thankfully my mommy spoils me rotten and gives me all sort of raw marrow bones and buffalo bones to keep me entertained. Still, I just wanna be a dog again. Mom keeps telling me in 5 more weeks I *might* get to walk around the house some more. Promises, promises.....

I'm at 4 weeks post-op this Thursday. I've been trying to tell my mommy that I'm all healed, but she won't listen to me. All the barking and banging my nose on the ex-pen isn't making her budge an inch. I want out- I want to run- I want to buck up and down with joy- I want to play in the pool- I want to wrestle wih Bellona. She keeps telling me I have weeks to go, but I'm ready NOW. Mommy- let me out !!!!!

Mom kept saying something about TPLO and I thought she was offering me some Jell-O. I'm a week post-op and I hate this stinking blue cone. Mom says it's just until I get the stitches out. I'm doing really good, but the first few days were horrible. Thankfully, my mommy and daddy slept on the floor next to my ex-pen and did their best to make the pain go away. I'm officially on the mend... get a good laugh at me in my blue cone, it won't last long!
