Arrival Story:
For those of you that think puppy mills can't really be that bad, let me tell you Frankie's story. Frankie came out of the mill in August 2008 along with nearly 1000 other dogs. Frankie was only about 9 months old but already his feet were splayed and bowlegged due to standing on wire all day, every day. He is also affected by an immune system that isn't resistant to much of anything. He was adopted out a year ago, but returned due to his owners having a new baby and not able to give him as much attention and the care he needs. He is a sweet, loving guy. He has allergies and is on a daily antihistimine, is no longer on seizure meds and shows no signs of any seizures. YAY! His skin stays fairly pink and appears irritated, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He also doesn't have much hair on his chest and stomach right now, but we are hoping with medication and diet that he will improve. We feel with the specific diet for his allergies he is now on is the right track to resolving these issues. He eats a diet for allergic dogs that is by Natural Balance and you can purchase at the pet stores or online at www.petfooddirect.com (there are generally coupons available). Also the only treats he gets are the Natural Balance treats for allergic dogs. He loves kids, gets along well with other dogs and is playful as can be. He loves attention and giving kisses. He is housetrained. He does tinkle a bit when excited, but we are working through this and will share our doxie secrets with you :) If you think you can give this sweet little guy a wonderful forever family, and are willing to stay on top of his allergies...then apply today. His adoption fee is $150.
