Quick Bio:

Birthday:
March 27th 2009

Likes:
Truck rides! And Holstein calves.

Pet-Peeves:
Any time his people make weird noises at him.

Favorite Toy:
A stick, a piece of junk...whatever is laying around on the ground!

Favorite Food:
Cat poop :(.

Favorite Walk:
The feed lot!

Best Tricks:
Jake learns pretty much EVERY command I teach him within 2-3 repetitions. We don't always know he learns this until a trainer comes by who knows what he is doing...and Jake goes "DOWN" on the first command. Temperamental sucker!

Arrival Story:
Jake is not actually my dog - he belongs to my Uncle. We both work on the family farm together and I spend a TON of time with Jake, and work with training him as well. I thought I would add him here to give him a bit of celebrity fame :).

Bio:
Jake is a purebred working line German Shepherd from West German lines, I believe. I am not 100% sure on this. Several Schutzhund champions in his bloodlines. I am sorry I do not know anything more specific. Jake's behavior might be mistaken for aggression at times. He is the least aggressive dog I have ever met...he is just VERY intense when making friends, especially if the person is brand new. (Jake has never met a stranger, nor anybody who doesn't love him...at least that is what he would tell you if he could talk!!!). If I sit down in one of our "cuddle spots" (spots he recognizes as places to sit on people's laps) he will just stay there for AGES, rubbing up against you, licking your face on occasion. Even the most insane distractions will not be enough for him to leave your side. I am not a professional trainer at all, and have never even attempted to train a dog to do anything other than "sit" before Jake. He is just so danged smart that he works past my incompetence in this area. I research what I can but I know I don't do things perfectly. But that doesn't matter to Jake, he want's to make his people happy and works hard at it, even if I don't always communicate with him very well.
