Just a few thoughts from Darwin..

It's Wabbit Season!

My family already had the cats when I came here... they seem sneaky but as long as they don't get in between me & my petting time I guess I won't have to step on them (snickers) But.. ahh.... cat food does hold my intrest.... That succulant smell.. I always hope that a kitty kibble will fall from the counter my way....
There's also a boa constrictor that comes out of the tank from time to time. I try to smell it but I'm not allowed to, so instead I just watch the strange moving rope as it's transfered here and there. I can't help but laugh when the snake gets fed though. That border collie "Zip" goes nuts since the boa is large enough to eat fresh road kill squirrels! Zip keeps thinking the squirrels are for her, and instead they are given to the snake.

Well, there's been a new development. My family has added a mini rex rabbit to the house. At first I thought hmm.... it's smaller than the cats... and moves too! The small creature isn't afraid of me - aren't these things made for dogs to chase??? Instead I find that when I go into the computer room, the rabbit jumps up to race towards the cage wire to greet me. I can't help but sniff back as our noses touch. I nearly fainted when I came in from the yard to find the cage empty one afternoon!! Where was my bunny?! My little sniffing pal?! I looked through the house frantically before going back to the empty cage again. I then looked to my humans to ask them with a demanding 'WOOF'.... "Where is the bunny?!' before going back through the house to look... coming back to the empty cage... Geeze...
Later that afternoon I find out that the bunny went to work & then to the vet to be checked out for sneezes.. I hope its not allergic to the cats..
Of course a few days later after supervising the changing of the rabbit cage litter I notice a new litter being put in. This one doesn't make my bunny sneeze. I know that technically it's not really MY bunny but since its cage is near my bed in that room..... I just know eventually I'll get to play with the bunny.... maybe for xmas? Ok.. I know that's not going to happen, so instead I'll just be content to mooch carrots through the wire from my pal.

A forever home.

Though I've been through alot, I finally have a new forever home at last!

I'll never have to sleep outside again..
Never have to eat scraps or dirt again...
Never have to run from shotguns again..
Never have anyone torment me or torture me again..

My humans make sure I have lots of places to sleep on the floor by giving me cushy pallets and beds. They also let me watch over them at night from the empty end of a kingsize bed! Of course, I do have to push them abit to snag a pillow or blanket.. the warmest ones are theirs.. I'll just have to work on that some more.

I also have a huge backyard to walk around in, though I prefer the inside of the house and usually just get that 'call of nature' done as quickly as possible to be able to come back inside. The strange border collie however.. her name is "Zip"... she insists on chasing squirrels!
Brrr.... too cold to be outside!

I've also gotten accustom to car rides. I really look forward to going to different places with my humans. We go to petstores to shop for that tasty food that seems to always be in my bowl.. and a treat now and then too! We also go see my doctor now and then. The silly human takes me is always happy after I get on the scale at the office. I actually think she likes seeing me gain weight! (Drools... thinking about peanut butter smeared milkbones..)

I have had a few nightmares though, my human says I started out with a little bit of barking.. then whining... then screaming..
It took her awhile to wake me up from that... but I'm glad she did.
I won't go into details about all the bad things I dreamt of, as I don't want anyone else having nightmares too.

Well, that's all for now.. life is great! Especially for great danes!
