Arrival Story:
Although we weren't in search of a dog, we happened to wind up at Petco on a rescue adoption day over 7 years ago where we saw this pitiful, underweight, and almost hairless puppy cowering in the back of his cage. While the other caged dogs went wild as soon as another dog approached, Luke merely watched with big eyes. Immediately I wanted to rescue this little guy. We were told he had been abused and after taking him on a walk into the parking lot, I saw a special spring in his step. I thought, "we're his only hope!". My husband claims I said "it's this dog or no dog", but I don't recall it that way. Anyhow, as soon as we got home, Luke immediately peeled off his meekness and went wild. And the Oscar goes to.... Yeah, for a short time, he was into eating CDs and digging himself into the neighbor's backyard (which he has picked up once again). He has since calmed down, but I'll never forget what a little salesman he was.
Bio:
Luke is not the most beautiful dog, he annoys our other animals, and can be a little posessive over food, but he can certainly be the most loving. Despite popular belief, he has many fans and is smarter than he looks!
