Bio:
Bernie is a 5 year old Terrier dachshund Mix that just needs a little understanding. Bernie had one owner for his five years of life and in that five years was never told NO. Bernie has gotten away with everything in the past and now is having a hard time adjusting to change. He is currently in a foster home with seven other dogs most of which are much bigger than he is. For the most part he does very well with them. An occasional grumble now and then but that is expected in any pack of that size. Bernie is 100 percent house broke. He does not require a crate during the day or at night. Right now he sleeps in bed with his foster parents as well as his foster brothers. During the day he has the run of the house with two foster brothers and one foster sister. The only time Bernie barks is when he is running in the back yard playing, or when he sits next to the Chinchilla cage and wants to play with them. Other than that he is very quiet while he is in the house. Bernie is going through some training right now in his foster home. He is learning to sit and stay as well as down and stay. Bernie is not real fond of strangers at this time and especially small children. He will nip if given the chance. That is Bernie's only down side and that is what his fosters are working on as well. It has a lot to do with never being told NO. The right person with the right understanding of Bernie could make an excellent new family.
