Likes: Keeping those pesky squirrels out of the back yard, going anywhere, walks, hikes, bike rides, dog park, even to the vet! I especially like bike rides because I get to run and pull my Mom around the block! But I also like to sleep next to my parents!
Pet-Peeves: Baths.. I hate baths.. or going outside when the ground is wet! ICK! I don't like getting brushed either. I don't see what the big fuss is!
Favorite Toy: Any squeeky toy! But it must have LOTS of stuffing.. and I mean LOTS!!!
Favorite Food: Anything! I love it all! But with my food allergies I mainly eat duck or fish dog food and treats! YUM!
Favorite Walk: Anywhere I get to greet others.
Best Tricks: I can jump through hoola hoops, sneeze on command, spin, rollover, too many to list! Oh and I know how to do all my tricks by either hand signals or by hearing the verbal words! My parents have taught me an awful lot!
Arrival Story: I ended up at the local shelter. When I arrived there, I had lots of ticks and although I was very outgoing, I was also timid and would pee if I got too nervous. The people at my previous home didn't teach me any basic commands, didn't housetrain me, and didn't teach me not to chew on whatever interested me. I didn't even know how to play with toys! My parents think they must have left me outside all time and didn't spend much time with me. But now I am the happiest dog in the world! My parents don't know how anyone could've given up a great dog like me.
My parents aren't sure of my age, but the shelter thought I was about 2 years old when I was adopted in 2005, although my vet thought I was between 1 to 1&1/2. So my parents celebrate my Woofday each year on the day I got to come to my new home.
Bio: My parents also recently did a DNA test to see what type of dogs my fur-parents were. They thought I had some pointer in me since I will pose like one sometimes when smelling something in the air outside. But it turns out I am: AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD, BASSET HOUND, AND BICHON FRISE! They knew I was part Aussie, but had no clue about the other two. My parents say the Aussie & Bassett Hound part must be why I have a "GO" and "NO GO" mode. I like to sleep a lot, but will always have tons of energy to do anything exciting!
On Sunday, my parents took me to the new dog beach park. I had never been to a beach before. The first time I went into the Bay water, I was chasing another dog. Before I knew it, the ground was disappearing! I quickly turned around and got back on dry land! Whew that was a close call!
My parents were crazy standing in the water, and so were the other dogs for running and flopping around in it! I kept walking to my parents in the water, but I whined and complained the whole time to let them know I wasn't happy about it. They were trying to tell me that the water can be fun, but I don't see what all the fuss is. I was happy once they got out of the water so that I didn't have to go back in.
Going in the water did keep me a lot cooler though with the summer heat though!
Earlier in the day I had a bike ride also. By the time we left the park, I was tired and quiet. My parents said they never heard me so quiet before. Once I rested a little, I was ready for more adventure!
Check out the video of my day at the beach on the left side of the screen!

My Mom and I did our usual bike-ride this morning. I really enjoyed it today because the weather is not too cold not too hot - right around 55 today. Because of this I got to run more than normal today! I love that my Mom lets me run and just pull her around the neighborhood. She doesn't even really get to peddle hardly except for a little bit towards the end. There weren't any dogs loose on today's ride, which made my Mom happy. A lot of them will chase us as we ride by. They could get really hurt! One time one of the dogs lunged towards us agressively, showing its teeth, growling, and chasing us as we rode by. It is sad that their parents don't watch out for them more. Their parents should really be more careful!
My Mom drove the distance we usually do on the bike and she found that we run/bike 3.5-4 miles, depending on what roads we weave through. It sure doesn't seem like that much. I am barely wore out at all after pulling my Mom around the neighborhood! After a quick nap I am ready to go again! I can never have too much excitement!
