Hi, Emma here. I had a big day on Tues – went to see Dr. Jodi and the nice people at Harmony Animal Hospital. I was a good girl there and I got a good report – heartworm negative, spayed, healthy, no ticks or worms, weigh 46.8 pounds and the small bump I had was from receiving a vaccination at the shelter. They think I might be closer to 2 yrs old or so; I am definitely a young adult. Even when I got a shot, I was goodJ So, I am ready to go to my forever home now if you are ready for me!!!
I am settling in very well. My foster parents have let me sleep on their bed, sofas and chairs which makes me very happy. I love to sit on their bed, on the soft folded blanket, and watch the birds at the feeders. My foster mom says I don’t miss a thing. I am getting used to the cats although today I just had to bark at one when he was in the shower licking the water…..crazy cat. They should be more like dogs. I do not chase the cats, but I love to chase the squirrels. I am a really fast runner and I love to run around the perimeter of my foster yard. I have never even thought about trying to climb or jump over the fence. Also, I am a very good watchdog. I won’t let anyone sneak up on you without barking an alarm.
So, please let the nice people at BRBR know if you want to adopt me. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been at my foster home for over 1 wk now. I get along with my 3 foster doggie brothers; however, I do not like to share my toys or pig’s ears. I wear a leash and harness when the 2 cats are nearby…eventually I will get used to them. Both of the cats are sitting near me right now. I LOVE to go on walks and car rides, especially when I ride shotgun! If the other dogs sit in ‘my’ seat, I just stare at them as if to say ‘how could you’? It’s fun to run around the yard and chase squirrels; I never even think about jumping over the fence. I love to sit on the chairs. I am a good watchdog too. If my foster parents don’t get what I want, I try to tell them by talking to them. I am so smart, I will even step into the harness without being asked! I’ll be seeing the vet this week to get my booster shots so…..I’ll be ready for my forever home. Are you looking for a sweet and smart boxer girl? If yes, fill out an application and ask for Emma!

So, the weekend brought more fun. I met the Chihuahua. Although I was not too sure about him at first, we get along fine now. The Chihuahua and I walked together a lot this weekend. When the Chihuahua was curled up in his bed, my foster mom watched me closely when I was checking him out-------I don’t know why she did that. I was just wagging my little nub when I was looking at him.
The cats, well, I don’t think I have ever seen one before, and there are 2 of them here. At first I wanted to chase them, but my foster parents said I can’t do that…so, I guess I will have to treat them like the Chihuahua. Right now, one of the cats is sleeping about 6 feet away from me. No problem at all.
This weekend we went on several long walks, one through Umstead Park where I saw a lot of other dogs. I was a good girl. My foster mom thought I walked kind of slow through Umstead Park, but what does she know about all the things I could smell? We went on several car rides too. I am a good car rider. A few times I had to stay in the crate when my foster parents went out. When my foster parents left the crate open, sometimes I went in it on my own because it was my idea.
Today I showed my foster family my best trick yet. I am a very talented girl. I can squeeze a squeaky toy like no one else and talk loudly at the same time! Well, my foster parents looked like they had never seen a dog do such a thing. They kept laughing and laughing and my foster dad took pictures on his cell phone. Ha ha. Silly people.
My foster mom thinks I look like I’ve gained a little weight already. Well, gotta go to bed now. Talk to you soon.
