   Leave a bone for Dizzy

Nicknames:
Dizzy Doggy, Dizzy Dog, Dizz

Quick Bio:
-purebred

Birthday:
April 26th 2003

Likes:
Chasing birds, prancing around the yard, vigorously licking my mom

Pet-Peeves:
Don't try to move me if I am cuddling!

Favorite Toy:
An old, mostly chewed up raccoon toy that is missing its head and limbs (I really am not a huge toy fan)

Favorite Food:
My mom only lets me eat dog food! But I sneak in a bird here and there when she's not looking.

Favorite Walk:
Walk? Why walk when you can run?

Best Tricks:
Pretending not to hear when my mom calls me to come inside

Arrival Story:
I bought Dizzy from a hobby breeder when she was 8 weeks old. The rest of the puppies were sleeping in a big pile, but Dizzy was digging holes in the sandbox. I could not have chosen a happier, friendlier, more active dog. What a personality! She makes everyone laugh constantly! Seven weeks after Dizzy came home, I decided she needed a playmate. Luckily the breeder still had Dizzy's littermate, Carmen, who is also now a member of our family.

Bio:
Dizzy loves to run, run, run, run, AND.... run! It is so funny to look outside and see Carmen sitting calmly in the middle of the yard, watching Dizzy run and chase birds. Carmen's head goes back and forth while Dizzy runs. Dizzy's little tail never stops wagging while she's running. :)

Forums Motto:
I'm the alpha! I'm the alpha!

Fun at the Dog Park

Our mom took us to the dog park tonight. She has been feeling bad for us because Carmen and I really dislike all the fireworks and we've been cooped up in the house for the last few days. She decided we needed to run off our energy, so we got to take a car ride and go to the park!

We were running around, chasing birds and looking beautiful, when all of a sudden something amazing happened. In through the gate walked an English Springer Spaniel (like us)... and then another... and then another... and then ANOTHER!!! Yes, my friends, four Springers walked through that gate!

Well, we were pretty excited, and so was our mom. You just don't see too many Springers here in Utah. We booked it over to that family and Carmen and I just frolicked and played with those other four Springers! It was sooooo fun. Our mom had fun talking to the Springer owners, too. It was a grandma and a grandpa, a mom and her two kids. They were really nice people. The grandpa told Mom that we should really learn how to be hunting dogs because we love to chase birds so much.

People kept commenting on the 6 Springers that were dominating the dog park. We drew quite a crowd! This made my ego even bigger. Normally we will see crowds of pit bulls or pugs at this park, but not crowds of Springers! Today was a special day.

Now I must rest from all of my running. I sure hope we see all those Springers again sometime. I've never had so much fun!

Your friend,
Dizzy

Ridding the house of pests

Well, it is that time of year again. It is sunny and warm so Mom has been leaving the windows and doors open. There are screens on the windows, but not on the doors. This lets in some flies. Not too many, mind you, usually just one or two... three if I am lucky.

I have taken it upon myself to rid the house of these flies. Whenever I see one, I do my best to catch it. This means that I will climb, jump, spring, crouch, run, crash, whatever it takes to catch that fly! Oh, and an interesting phenomenon occurs... I go deaf while I'm trying to catch the fly, so no matter what Mom says, no matter how she yells or begs or pleads, I pay no heed to her words while I continue to stalk the flies.

Sometimes Carmen helps me and we are both climbing, jumping, springing, crouching, running, and crashing at the same time. It is glorious fun!

I'm not sure why Mom doesn't appreciate it when all we are trying to do is rid the house of these pests. We usually end up back outside when the fly catching has gone on for a few minutes. Sheesh, some people are so ungrateful.

Your friend, Dizzy

The Birthday Queen

Today is Carmen's and my 3rd birthday. This means our mom was our slave all day long. Whenever I commanded her, she gave me treats and pig ears. Mom is convinced that she was rewarding us for doing things like "sit" and "down," but really I was the one in control. I even convinced her to blow bubbles for us in the back yard. Boy does she look funny when she does that! I must admit it was pretty fun. Carmen and I can leap and do twists like no other dogs when we're trying to catch those bubbles!

The only bad thing about birthdays is that you have to wait an entire year until you get your next one! But boy, this was a fun one! I'll remember it fondly all year long.
