October 22nd 2009

Likes:
playing with Abigail, lying on the doorstep, bouncing, Mumma, and burying all sorts of things (I'm a bit like the wombles), Playfighting with dadda

Pet-Peeves:
Not being allowed to roam the whole house, being teased

Favorite Toy:
Anything Abigail is playing with, horse toe nails, and my findings in the tunnels, Dadda

Favorite Food:
Fresh, raw vegetables, straight from the chopping board. A wee piece of brie and the contents of the biscuit or rubbish tin.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere with Mumma, but not too far, I don't go down the drive or past the wool shed.

Best Tricks:
Running through the puppy tunnels under the hedge, Abigail is too big to go in there so I hide her toys.

Arrival Story:
We had to put down our first dog Turbo, and we were all so sad. We didn't really want another dog, just yet but life was too hard for Abigail and so it was decided to get another dog. We looked high and low for this little puppy who we knew would play a great part in our family. In the end we drove half the length of the South Island to pick her up. That was three weeks ago and she seems to have made herself well and truely at home.

Bio:
Kenzie is an Irish pointer, Labrador, collie cross. She will make an excellent country dog, and if she's half the dog we think she will be we will not be surprised. She is extremely trainable and generally picks up new commands in two 15 minute sessions.

Forums Motto:

In nine sleeps, this puppy is going home!!!!

I will be one year tomorrow since our house was red stickered and things became rather dicey for us as a family.

We have since been living under quite different skies, living in the wool shed was cool, because it was summer and it was an easing into moving away.

Then we moved up the road into a house and whilst it has been a roof over our heads, none of our hearts have been here.

So, in just nine sleeps I am moving home! My dog house will be put on the back of my truck, and I will sit on the back with it and we will drive up the road and around the corner to MY house.

Even though Mumma says I am her moving buddy, Dadda will help me move home.

He will dismantle my yard and I probably won't take much notice but when he puts my kenzie house on there, I am going to bark and bark, (I won't growl, only because its Dadda) he says if it was burglars, then I could growl.

I am going to bark all the way home, preferably right in his ear and then when I get home, I am going to let out a very soulful howl to mark the ending to a series of horrible events.

I then plan to do my horsemastership 101 and be able to keep the horses under control, when the need arises.

After all that has happened, its so good to know I can go home and be allowed to be as free as I like. We all know its not going to be as easy as pie, but none of us can wait!

I had my second bath in my whole life!

My first bath was not a plesant experience and I cried and Abbey told me not to be such a baby. It was the middle of summer and I did not enjoy a bath on the lawn with the hose.

On Saturday when I woke up I went and rolled in the most tasty pile of manure I could find. I was glad that I got my whole neck and chest covered and I thought I smelled nice, Kenzie number five, they could bottle it and sell it in pet shops.

However, when I was bought inside for the night, Dadda and the boy decided I was just too feral to be inside and I was bannished to my run for the whole night. It is the middle of winter here and it was freezing, luckily I have lots and lots of blankets to keep me warm and toastie.

About lunchtime on Sunday I was let out of jail and quickly ushered inside.

Ahhh

Mumma had run me a nice warm bath and had some really smelly shampoo. Dadda lifted me into the bath and Mumma poured warm water over me from the bath. She then covered me in shampoo and her and Dadda rubbed and scrubbed out the filth.

I was then rinsed off and the bath water turned green. I was then shampooed again and this time I had a really deep, full body wash. It was so relaxing!

After my final rinse I was picked up and wrapped in a nice fluffy towel and taken out on the deck so I could shake and then I was wrapped back up and taken inside by the fire.

Thank heavens I had the bath yesterday as it was extremely cold here last night and it snowed quite heavily. I was lying by the fire, drying and I heard the lambs next door crying and crying.

Today we were snowed in and I have only been allowed out to go to the toilet.

I loved my bath!

What does this mean?

"All for one, and one for all"

Mumma said this to us tonight while she was rubbing my ear and patting Abigail.

It means we come from a family where things are done for the greater good of this family!

She then said something about "girl and puppy power", and we both laughed, as we get the distinct feeling, without these magic powers, nothing would ever happen!
