Arrival Story:
I don't remember my Yorkie Momma, and I don't remember much about my first home except that I was always hungry, I was uaually in pain, and I was really cold cause I lived outside in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. What I do remember is that very late on the night of October 13, 2007 I was shivering and cold because it was below freezing and a really pretty lady came and picked me up and cuddled me. She talked to my owner and took me inside. The next morning the pretty lady was back and gave my owner $10.00 and rushed me to the vet. I weighed not quite 0.5 lbs and my hair was matted to my skin. My little legs are all twisted funny because they had been broken and never set. My little left back leg had healed in four pieces of femur and my little back is all twisted. The vet didn't think that I would even live 24 hours. The lady that rescued me said she wanted to try and feed me. She took me to my foster home and fed me rescue food. I was very afraid and had nervous urination. I had lived at my foster home for a month when I met my Mommy. Mommy swooped me into her arms and I latched on just like a kitty. Mommy was the first person that I wasn't afraid of. I had to stay at my foster home and get my vaccinations and try to gain some more weight. On Christmas Day 2007, I went home with my Mommy and my two sisters, Sugar and Sweet Pea.

I weighed 1.6 lbs when I went to live with my Mommy. She put a belly band on me and let me try to walk and play with my sisters. I didn't know what to think when Mommy just cuddled me and loved me and gave me good norishing food. She never raised her voice, even when I went potty on the floor. I kept waiting to get hurt. It never happened. I got in the semi truck with Mommy and my sisters but I was nervous and thought that something bad was going to happen to me. I worried till I got very sick. Mommy got very scared and took me to a very kind vet. He gave me yucky medicine, but it made me all well. He told Mommy he didn't think that I would even live another year. It took me a long time, but I realized that my Mommy and my sisters loved me very much. I gradually gained strength and grew to trust Mommy to always love me. On Christmas Day, 2009 I have been with my Mommy for 2 years. I loved trucking with my family but now I love being home, as long as I am with my Mommy I am happy. I went to The Rainbow Bridge, quietly in my sleep, April 18, 2011. I was so so sorry to leave my family, but my little body just wore out. I am waiting patiently for them to join at The Bridge, but for now, I am running free and whole.
