Arrival Story:
I had a little girl puggle come stay with me to play with my boy puggle Franklin, and when she went home I was heartbroken. My sister-in-law found a website that had puggle puppies for sale, and I fell in love with #20, my soon to be 4th dog, baby Rita.

Bio:
Rita is named in honor of my grandmothers.. I am the youngest doggie of the 5 in my house, and the smallest, and boy do I know how to play it. If there is any controversy over who picked up a toy first, the winner is ME. If there is any argument over who will be sitting on mommy's lap, the winner is ME. Any discussion over who gets the prime spot next to mom in bed? You guessed it; winner-ME! It's good to be the princess.

A Puppy Named Poquita...

No; the Poquita is NOT a mutt!

To "Anonymous" who gave me a rosette, and proceeded to say:

"Very cute! But FYI you are a mutt, not purebred."

Actually, I am a hybrid; parents both purebred. Since Dogster doesn't have a hybrid category, we went with what was most accurate to us. FYI Hybrids are registered, much the same as "purebreds".

My big adventure...

This happened earlier in the summer, but my mom forgot to write about it..

There was a big thunderstorm that came up here (new thing for
me) mom went to the store and I was home with dad and the rest of the
fur-babies. Dad was on the phone, doing the work thing, and not being
very attentive to me (can you believe that??). I must have gotten
really scared, and squeezed my little self out of the fence. Dad got
off the phone, and went to shut the big gate to the yard, so that us
dogs would only have access to the dog run during the storm. That's
when he found out I was: MISSING!!

When mom got home, he had to break the news to her that I was gone.
Boy did she freak (that's what Franklin says, anyways) My dad and my
mom and my human sister spent hours and hours searching for me, in
fields and in and around the creek near us, for miles and miles in the
storm. They used a big spotlight to search for me, but NO LUCK. My
mom wanted to call the police and the sherriffs and CSI, but no one
would let her (I wonder why not??).

Finally, about midnight, everyone gave up the search with plans to put
up posters and make phone calls in the morning. My mom could not
sleep a bit, thinking of me out in the rain and all. She thought I
was gone forever. At last she laid down, with the bedroom window open
so she could hear. About 5:30 AM, she heard a scrabbling noise on her
window, and opened the front door. It was me!!!

Well, my mom scooped me up in her arms and just about squished me to
death. She put me down finally and I ran around to everyone saying
hello. I was all wet, with dried mud on my belly, so she ran me
upstairs and gave me a nice warm bath, which I liked. Then I got to
have breakfast, like 3 times I was so hungry. And THEN I curled up
next to mom and we took a big huge nap together.

When I woke up I was so happy to see everyone again, I went to
everyone giving them special Rita kisses. Everyone wanted to know
where I had been, but I will not spill that info. Nope, no way. My
mom still has a very hard time leaving me; she made dad go around and
around the fence making sure there is NO WAY for me to get out again.

Wow; what an adventure!!

"Spay" is NOT at all like "Play"!!

Don't be fooled Dogster friends: SPAY is not anything at all like PLAY!!

I found this out a couple of days ago, when they took me to that confusing place where the people are really nice, but the smells are really scary. Something happened there; I got really sleepy, then when I woke up, my tummy was sore. Plus, now I have these string hooked on to me, and they WON"T come off... I have tried and tried..

But, finally I did get to go home; my daddy came and got me. Mom was so happy to see me, and so were the other guys too. Now I am running around playing like nothing ever happened, so I guess it wasn't too bad after all.. And now I guess I am "spayed", whatever that means.
