Arrival Story:
It was about a year ago that a friend of mine suggested that I get a dog. I said, "no." It was not because I hated dogs, it was just that I hadn't had one in a long time and I thought I wouldn't know what to do. But with a little arm twisting and a big enough nudge I ultimately said, "yes." We took a day off of work during a slow time and drove to Seattle's Animal Shelter (2061 15th Avenue West). It must have been fate as Ulysses sat in the last cage of the long line of cages. Her cage tag wasn't filled in as she was brought in just the day before from another kennel. She was young and cute and I grabbed her and immediately brought her to the vet nurse for adoption. From that day on, we've been one happy family.

Denny Creek Hike

Today Vivian took me hiking with her friend Gaylin and a little boy named, Martin. It was drizzling but we still made it. The scenery on our drive was amazing. I was so excited when I saw the forest. I couldn't wait to take off. Martin led me for the first half an hour. I pulled him really hard because I was so anxious to see everything. Then, we saw a red hair Chow-Golden Retriever Mix off leash so Vivian decided to set me free, too. I followed the red head and her owners to the creek. The rocks were so smooth and I jumped from one rock to another and even went swimming a little bit in the creek. The water tasted cold but delicious.

We hiked 2 miles up and then 2 miles down. On the way down, Martin put a bit of treat along the way so I would follow him. I jumped, ran, went zip/zap and around the circle. I had so much fun!!!!!

We went home and I was completely exhausted. I have never slept so good!

Snow Lake Hike

We went on a 6 mile hike on Snow Lake, Wa last weekend. I was surprised we even went. Lately, we've just been at home near a computer. Totally bored :( I'm glad we went though. It took us close to 4 hours. We went with Isabell, Jyoti and other friends from Microsoft. It was sooooo beautiful. I even got close to the edge on some rocks and hung on my pawtips as I scaled a rock. Gosh that was close. Whew!

When we got back to the cabin we barbecued bleu cheeseburgers, but the smoke bothered me. We had pulled pork sandwhiches and fruit salad. I picked a few off the ground when they fell.

Got home around 8pm and I slept soundly... thanks, Uly

Hi Everyone,

Just a few months ago, I was a diary pick of the day and now today, I've been picked as THE Diary of the Day. Wow! I'm just so honored and privileged. I don't know what could be a better thing to start off my Fourth of July weekend besides fireworks.

Even then, the fireworks wouldn't compare.... this is just so great. I love Dogster!

Love,
Ulysses
