Birthday:
January 1st 2007

Likes:
Bee loves getting brushed and being fed. She also loves going to play in the park with her daughter, Belle, and her cousin, Hannah.

Pet-Peeves:
She dislikes it when she hears my neighbors on the stairs or strangers on the sidewalk. She becomes very protective.

Favorite Toy:
Any toy, as long as it involves tug of war. Or a good game of competitive fetch.

Favorite Food:
Beatrice is food-motivated. She loves treats.

Favorite Walk:
Like Peabody, Bee loves to go on extended walks.

Best Tricks:
We're still working on learning actual tricks, but she knows how to "sit." She can jump and swirl in the air.

Arrival Story:
I found Beatrice during the hottest month of Houston, Texas. I was leaving the city pound after a day of volunteering when I came upon her running around in circles down the street leading into the shelter. She had clearly been dumped at some point in the afternoon heat and was confused. I chased her around before I was able to catch her and get her into my car--and then noticed she was VERY pregnant. After another shelter told me she would be euthanized because she was pregnant, I took her home. My best friend and I gave her a long bath, picked all of the fleas off her and made her a bed in the kitchen. Three days later she gave birth to ten beautiful, healthy puppies. I fostered the pups until they were old enough to be adopted. Bee was heartworm positive, so after the puppies were weaned and then adopted, she underwent her treatment. Once she got a clean bill of health and tested heartworm negative, she was spayed. Of course, she will now stay with me forever. She is loving, loyal, and smart. All I have to do is look at her and she starts wagging her tail.

Bio:
Beatrice was a perfect houseguest from the very beginning. She was almost immediately housetrained and loves my other dogs and even the cats. She knows this is her forever home.
