We had to have Noah put to sleep 12/29/09. He had started to go down hill a couple of months ago. Christmas Eve, he started coughing non stop and it just wore him out. I took him to our Vet and while we were there, he had a Grand Mal siezure. From there, we went to the hospital where they kept him overnight and run several tests on him.
His glucose level was down to 19 which is what caused the seizure. The tests showed that he had developed Cushings Disease and that threw his insulin level off. Normal liver enzymes in a dog are around 300. Noah's was 2200. He also, had arthritis, he was blind, he was losing weight and had become more and more confused. He wouldn't have gotten any better and if we had brought him home, he would have kept going down hill and had more seizures.
I know, it was the right thing to do, but it hurts so much. My heart is truly broken in a million pieces.
A big thanks to those who have been sending thoughts and prayers our way. It's much appreciated.
My baby is an angel now and I know that he's not suffering anymore. He'll be in my heart forever and I'll never stop loving him.

Noah,
You will always be in our hearts and we will always love you. We miss you already! You are such a sweet angel now. All my fursiblings including the kitties, horses, chickens, ratties, rabbits all will miss you very much! Even my pawrents & human brofur, Joey, miss you! Rest in peace sweet angel cousin!

Why?

The truth is,
we may never
be able to know
for sure why.

But we do know
that there is no single
"should have done"
or "could have done"
or "did" or "didn't do"
that would have
changed that why.

All that love could do
was done.

I am very sorry to hear about Noah, but he will live FOREVER in your heart. Thank you for sharing his life with us via pictures and info here on Dogster.

Just a note telling you of how I know where are animals are concerned we think of them as "FAMILY". My dog is still alive but has had close encounters of death. His name is Beaureguard of which I call him BabyBo he is 11 years old and was born 2/15/1999. My feelings where your baby is sad. Here is almost a year gone by since your left you. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost Babybo. But, I know someday I will. I hope that you will have replaced that void in your life.
