Arrival Story:
We casually talked about getting another dog after we got married, but when Oscar started visiting we realized it was worth a try. We rescued Buster through a friend and foster family with Barks-R-Us in August 2004. He quickly became a loving member of our family.

Bio:
Buster is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and registered with HomeAgain. He weighs about 100lbs and sleeps between us nearly every night. He is as much playful as he is lazy. He loves to be groomed, kissed and cuddled. Annie, our 7 year old female husky mix, is his best friend and soulmate. They have played rough and groomed each other without incident since Buster's arrival. Unfortunately, his genes may be responsible for sparking dominant, aggressive behavior about once or twice a year. Our older, smaller, male dog, Yogi, has been injured during sudden fights over food or territory. In January 2008, Yogi was seriously injured and though it breaks our hearts, we have actively sought a new loving home for Buster without other pets or young children. He has never attacked or threatened a child, but we feel it may be a necessary precaution due to possible teasing or abusive behavior by unsupervised children. He has a strong retractable leash, but we may advise muzzling him around animals or children as a precation. He has displayed 4 acts of aggression toward our male dog in 3 1/2 years, but he does well with our female dog. However, when small or equal size male or female dogs have visited our home, he has made an effort to "put them in their place" without injury. Buster is a wonderful, loving pet for a responsible adult, couple or family with older children. He is mostly an indoor couch/bed dog, but enjoys a dog door to a large fenced backyard and neighborhood walks. We may be interested in finding a home for Buster in our area so we (Annie too!) can visit him. I worry he may become lonely without his playmate, but believe that can be offset by a loving adult who takes him for walks and cuddles with him.
