Likes: Right now food and biting and DIGGING and Stealing things off Counters!
Pet-Peeves: That Oliver takes his toys and he can't have treats whenever he wants, also not getting to accompany me on errands!
Favorite Toy: Anything that Ollie has taken from him, Loves Loves LOVES Balls!
Favorite Food: He'll try anything - especially if he sees anyone else eating it!
Favorite Walk: Loves Petsmart and Depew Park
Best Tricks: Sit, Down, and of course Ball Catching! Also, he knows when we put his toys in the dishwasher and say they are going "night-night" that he's through playing with them for the day! And when we say "time for bed" he goes and gets into his crate.
Arrival Story: My Beloved Cocker, Bailey passed away June 6, 2004 we were down to two dogs. Remy and Ollie. Two dogs was easier - but something was lacking. I 'd always wanted a Golden and met a great breeder on-line - who sent me photos and info about the parents, Rocky and Katie. The babies were born on 10/30/04 I got photos of all the babies with Katie. Then at 14 days - I got a photo of the perfect Golden Boy. More photos came - he was getting bigger and handsomer!! On 12/29/04 Red Hook, NY he arrived via TransPet Truck. As soon as Dudley came off the TransPet Truck - I knew it was him. That's when I knew his name was Dudley. He was all action on the ride home - wanted party & play! But as soon as we got home, into the crate and asleep!
Bio: Dudley was the biggest and darkest boy in his litter - at nine months he weighsed 72 pounds and now at two years he's up to 98 pounds. He's wider than Trusty and he is currently on a diet.
He is the Golden I've always wanted - always thrilled to see you - wags his whole body and runs to "retrieve" something for you. He has his father's build and his mother's eyes.
He also inherited some of their traits - total manic behavior with all Balls is still going strong (from his mother Lawson's Lonesome Dove Kate)- - he has destroyed two bed ruffles and chewed the skirt of a brand new couch (gulp!) because the ball was under them and he couldn't get to it.
He is by far and away the happiest dog/living creature I've ever seen, every single day. He has an assortment of Academy Award Winning Faces that he puts on for different reasons. He is smart, and very loyal. He also seems to instinctively know when to be gentle with small children and tiny dogs and is quite sociable. The first thing he does every morning is go to Remy and kiss him. Then he kisses Oliver Louis and looks at me as if to say "okay! Now we can start our day!"
He's happy when he wakes up and right through till he goes to sleep - just one more reason to love him!

Loves to: Watch dogs on telly
Used to love to surprise me by: By opening his crate in the middle of the night and coming to say "Surprise!"
New Nightly Routine: Old one was as soon as he heard "time for bed" he'd goes and get into his crate, but now that I've taken his crate down - he does a mad run around with a slipper or shoe and then settles down on bottom of my bed. When I turn out the light - he repositions himself so that he is next to me or touching me somehow.
Most annoying trick: Barking at you incessently because he wants your attention NOW! Or - there's something on the counter that he must have NOW!
2nd Most Annoying trick: Getting your attention to play with him and then refusing to give up the ball!
Nightly Ritual: When we go upstairs at night he immediately grabs a slipper of mine and parades around with it wagging his tail as if to say "Okay! Time to get ready for bed!"
New Morning Ritual: He used to kiss Rems and then Ollie - but since Remy has passed, he comes up and kisses me first and then Ollie!
When he rides: in the car he sits straight up in the backseat - just like a passenger. Doesn't want the window open - just wants to look out the window.
When he wants attention from me: He will do a low growl, and wait. If I do not respond, another low growl with and will hit me with his paw! This is usually in the evening when I am on my bed watching tv, and all he wants is for me to pet his paw! After I do that - he's fine.
That's right - today, Friday, October 30th is my birthday! And! Mom is home with me today! I cannot stop smiling and wagging I am so happy about this. Of course, the fact that Alison's wedding is tomorrow (yes, Halloween!) may have something to do with her staying home - but I'd like to think that my special day has something to do with it - and! Since we woke up this morning - all she's been doing is calling me "Birthday Boy!" and giving me hugs and kisses! I know that I am getting a special treat later too. Plus I already had a great time this past week - jamming with my brothers and sister! I tell you my hiney is going to be soooooo tired tonight from all the wagging I'm gonna be doing all day today!
Mum noticed two nights ago that I had a boo-boo on my face. A bite mark. Thanks you very much Miss Anne Marie. At least I know you've had your shots - but did you have to puncture my skin? And pull out some hair? FROM MY HANDSOME FACE? And when Mum saw it - immediately the first aid stuff comes out - and I do not like that one bit. But I let her do what she wanted to do. Peroxide, rubbing alcohal whatever and and then the ointment. It feels better today but she still will not stop. And! I am supposed to get my shots soon - so she'll probably drag me in there this week!
Well there was a HUGE Flood on Friday night into Saturday morning - and Mom was a wild woman - all over the place - I thought that once the ceiling fell it would be the end of Home Owner Dramas for a while. But I guess I was wrong.
Mom was cleaning and trying to get rid of water like crazy. But you know what? Despite all that happened and it being a totally wild day? Last night she says "C'mere Peep - look what I have for you!" And I ran over and gasped! It was a beautiful red patent leather Coach collar! With a brand new name tag! One that looks like a License plate and my name as the Plate Number - and on the other side a picture of me and all my info!
Even with all the stuff that happened yesterday - she still thought of me! I love her!
