Hazel's main passions are stalking squirrels and going crazy over cats. She loves standing up on her hind legs to look up big trees, and trying to jump up the tree if she sees something. She goes crazy over food like she's constantly starving.
Pet-Peeves:
Putting her harness on, snow plows, landscaping trucks, refrigerator noises, heaters, over-excited dogs ... she's got a lot of dislikes.
Favorite Toy:
Her favorite toy is anything that she can tear apart - ropes and soft toys in general. She has an AKC brand chipmunk toy that she doesn't destroy, as if she knows it is too expensive a gift to waste! Also likes: Galileo bone, Orbee Tuff ball, and Kong.
Favorite Food:
Homecooked meat of any kind. Raw chicken feet and raw meaty bones. Frozen stuffed Kongs.
Favorite Walk:
Any nature trail.
Best Tricks:
Probably the best is that she can pick a command word out of an entire sentence and you don't have to emphasize it.
Arrival Story:
We adopted Hazel in August 2009. She was such a subdued dog at the adoption event, and she jumped into the car like rides were her favorite activity. We joke now that they must have sedated her that day, because she's a pretty high-anxiety dog and also gets car-sick. Certainly not the calm dog that we set out looking for, but she's totally worth the extra effort! She's my best friend and source of motivation.
