Arrival Story:
My mother and I were in New Jersey when we came across this pet store. Having ferrets and a cat already we decided to see if we could get anything for them there. In the back area of the shop they had this wall of display cages for puppies and chance happening my mother and I walked to that back to see what they had. My mom looked around and suddenly froze; To explain my mom grew up with a Dachshund Suzie and besides Dobermans and Rottweilers, Dachshunds are her favorite breed. Before I knew it my mom was asking if she could see him even though he was sleeping at the time and when he was put in her arms I knew that was it, she knew the same when he was put in mine at least she says that. He was a tiny thing but also very lethargic and bloated around the belly area so much that he hadn't have gone to the bathroom in a while and we could tell the store wasn't taking good care of him at all. when he got home with us, the belly went down substantially and he started to pep up. When taking him to the doctor we were told that because of his condition in the store he had parasites that needed medication otherwise they could pretty much kill him passed through contaminated water, some dehydration and he was constipated, I could only imagine the other puppies in the place that were still there or being sold, it was bad enough they charged more money than they should have. His parasites finally got to him, it started with aggression.. the doctors said that they were medication resistant and it was slowly getting worse to the point where he was trying to attack us randomly. it got so bad that finally, we had to put him down. Our little boy was only three years old. It pains me even now to know this happened and I will forever miss and love my little Max. I wish you were still with us, but it seems it wasn't meant to be.
