Quick Bio:

People food, sticks, tissue paper, socks, fingers, anything that drives mommy and daddy nuts!

I don't like to be left alone, getting my nails cut, or getting my ears and teeth cleaned. I especially hate it when mommy and daddy eat in front of me and don't give me any of their food.

Favorite Toy:
I love my squeaky chicken bone, my fuzzy stuffed baseball, and tennis balls!

Favorite Food:
Anything that you're eating. Maple bacon stuffed bones, milk and honey, Pupperoni.

Favorite Walk:
Fairmount Park, Mt. Rubidoux, Fiesta Island Dog Beach in San Diego

Best Tricks:
Rolling over to get food (even when nobody has told me to roll over) and giving five. I also put my paws on your leg when you are eating so you will look at my sad eyes and feel bad, but that never works with my parents, only with other people.

Arrival Story:
We got Taz from my Co-worker's neighbor. Taz's parents accidentally got pregnant and we were fortunate to have Taz for free. His mommy was a purebred beagle, and his dad was a purebred basset hound. They had a litter of 4, and Taz was the only boy. We first saw him when he was 4 weeks, and he licked my hands right away when he saw me, and tried to jump out of the pen. I fell in love instantly and couldn't wait to take him home when he was old enough. Now he is our precious baby boy, running around the house and driving us nuts.

I may look adorable, sweet, and act like a perfect Angel, but behind that facade I am a Devil, scheming with ideas to trick you to do my every deed.

Hello everyone,
Wow what a day it is. Today is my first birthday, so 7 years old in dog years. hahah. I'm so happy. Today I got special can food, new toys, doggie ice creams, and lots of loving from mommy and daddy. For my special presents mommy is making me take more training classes. I don't call that a present, more like more work, but if it makes mommy happy that I get smarter then I guess its ok. Daddy got me a matching Oakland Athletics' collar and leash set for the baseball season to go with my football set of the 49ers that mommy got me for father's day to surprise daddy. I'm going to get groom before class tomorrow and show all the lady puppies how handsome I am. BTW, Mommy also enter me in the Milkbone contest so I hope to get some cheers from all my friends and family. I guess that is all for now. Until then, thanks for stopping by to read what's on Taz's mind.

For 8 long weeks, I have been attending Puppy School. I finally graduated on March 6, 2005. Mommy and Daddy was so proud of me. There was a series of test I had to pass and there was one test I thought I couldn't. My instructor, Tamia put all these treats along an aisle and I had to leave all the treats walking through it. Yep, I did it! How you ask? I'm a teenager and I was too busy chasing all the girl puppies ahead of me. Mommy and Daddy didn't mind that was my motivation at the time , because they wanted me to pass and not waste their money. I got lots of presents. I got a Hamburger and Hotdog toy from Mommy and Daddy. Later on, Mommy and Daddy took me to San Diego to visit Grandma and she gave me a stuff animal of a huskie dog. I even went to La jolla shores and saw the seals. I had fun on my first time at the beach. That was the best day ever! Well everyone, thanks for stopping to read what's on Taz's mind.

First day at puppy school

Sunday was my first day at puppy school. When we walked into the store at Petsmart, we saw another puppy that looked just like me but with longer ears. I was excited and the other puppy was very quiet on the shopping cart. I got to walk around the store before class started because we were there early. There was a shepard dog by the name of Sandy that was very hyper around me. She was too much for me to handle and I just hid behind mommy and daddy. Surprisingly, she was in puppy school with me also. My trainer's name is Tamia and she is very nice. I've never been around so many puppies before in my life and I was nervous. There was a pomerian named Princess, who was quite sassy and sat next to me. She made me howl a couple of times in the store and she barked at me also, it was great. Three golden retrievers named: Walker who was the biggest puppy there and fluffed his tail at me a couple of times, Seal who I usually chased around the store during break, and Sunny who was very playful. There was also a malamute with a weird name I don't remember because she was the quietest one there who just sat on her butt all day. I thought she was a snob but mommy said she was just lazy. There was also a beautiful beagle by the name of Nugget who was scared like me because she hid behind her parents' chairs half of the time also. A pit named Matilda, a Chihuahua with a heart shaped tatoo, and two austrialian shepard by the name of Riley and of course Sandy. They were the most social couple there. I was quite shy at first and hid behind the chair or begged my parents to sit on their lap. After a few bribes of treats, I felt a bit more comfortable. My parents learned how to give me puppy massages and I liked it. The trainer also taught the parents to give the command "Sit" and almost all of the puppy there didn't know it and I was ahead of the gang. Mommy said I was the smartest one there. My parents also learned "Gotcha", which is a command to make me feel comfortable when they tug on my collar. The trainer said it's great in case I'm lost because it helps me not to be as scared if a stranger needs to grab my collar to read my tag. The trainer also took one puppy at a time to meet the other puppies but I didn't want to do it and she didn't force me. There was also other puppies like that too. Tamia said we would be more friendly on our next meeting. At the end of class, I wasn't as shy anymore. I started to find my classmates and howl at them so they can chase and play with me. Some of them did the same back to me and the ones who scared me earlier became scared of me, it was funny. My parents were embrassed of all the noise I made. I had a fun day, I can't wait till I go to school next week. Wish me luck. Until then, thanks for stopping by to read what's on Taz's mind.
