Hi, Peyton here - I just wanted to stop in and let everyone know that I started my heartworm treatment last week and I'm doing so well. I will have 30 days of crate rest, then I go back to the Dr. for another treatment and 2 more weeks of crate rest. Mom says to just enjoy my relax time and save my energy for when those worms are gone, then I can play all I want. Would you want to play with me? Hello – I wanted to drop everyone a line to let you know what’s going on in the “World of Peyton”. I’ve had a very busy holiday and also we to the vet to be spayed. While I was there, they removed several growths too – now I have lots of special haircuts all over. Mom was ready to schedule my heartworm treatment but the vet called and said that one of my growths was something called a mast cell. It sounds really scary but mom said that boxers get those quite often and not to worry that she and all the people in the rescue would help me get better and say lots of doggie prayers for me. Next, I go for something called an ultrasound so they can see where my surgery will be. Well, enough of the boring medical stuff – on to some fun! I have really learned to play with toys, other dogs, my mom and little skin kids – and I’m having a BLAST! I feel like I’m on vacation at a dog spa or something. Mom tells me that I’m doing great because I’m house trained and crate trained – I guess that means I’m smart and went to school or something! One of my new favorite things is to steal mom’s chair when she gets up or is not looking. I also love to have lots of blankets with my bed so I can curl up and snuggle. I’ll keep you updated on my adventures at the vet but don’t forget me – I would love to be your HEART dog!
