It's tough being handsome

My story

It starts like so many other stories of shelter dogs, without a real beginning. See, I somehow ended up in a shelter, without my old family coming totake me back home or a new family to add me to theirs. I waited and waited. Not all dogs are as lucky as I am. I was picked up by the wonderful people of PAW and they took me a new place a kennel, that was much better than the shelter, not quite a home though. It should have only gotten better from then on, but not yet. I was diagnosed with Hartworm disease, seems like my old family didn't take care of me all that well. So I went to the doctor to get all better, but I had been coughing. Come to find out on top of nasty worms living in my heart I also had pneumonia. And I had to stay at the vet's office for days to get better. Finally, I was picked up by my foster mum. How wonderful, a home at last, or at least somewhat, not quite my home, but it'll do for now. I was on strict cage rest for four long weeks, not a big fan of that, and then off to the vet for more HeartWorm treatment. This time it made me feel really sick, so after being home for one day I had to go back to the vet. Wow, see a pattern here? But foster mum promises that it is all over now. I still can't run and play, but only for two more weeks. Then I'll be healthy and I can go to adoption events to meet my own family and that home I've been dreaming about.
In the meantime I will learn all the stuff that good dogs need to know, seems I've missed out on training, too. I am a sweet boy though. I love being scratched and will tumble over in your lap to make sure you can't go anywhere. I've learned that peeing in the house is not okay (still don't know why, but it seems to be really important to foster mum, and she's kinda nice, so I'll stick to trees), I like other dogs, especially my little foster brother, and am pretty laid back in general. Once I can get my energy out through running and play and walks I will be a very content boy.
Anyway, thanks for reading and if you would like to hear more, well why don't you just invite me into your home and I will tell you all about everything you want to her? I really, really want my own family. I promise I will be a faithful dog, play with you, give you endless love and kisses and I will love you forever.
