I'm worried...

My mom hasn't given up on the idea of my having a friend to play with all the time...a sister. She is starting to once again check out sites for cockapoos and other types of doods, and I'm honestly a bit worried. If she adopts another dog, especially one smaller than me, how will I still be important to her? When she comes home from work, will she want to see my sister first? Will my mom want to cuddle with this new puppy more than she does with me? I admit it...I'm just too big to cuddle with anymore. I have to somehow convince her that I'm fine just like I am. Yea, I get lonely sometimes, but don't humans get lonely sometimes too? It doesn't mean that we need to have someone around ALL the time just because we occasionally don't like being by ourselves. I'm gonna give her some extra attention this week--lick her feet more than I usually do--and hopefully this will get her to stop looking for another dog and just pay more attention to me.

It's November, and I'm a happy pup cause...

...this is my favorite time of the year. My mom is teaching THE ODYSSEY again, and she is almost ready to introduce book seventeen where my name came from! She told me she always tells her students about me during this time, too, so I feel so loved. And then my brother is moving home from New York, and my sister is coming home from college so I'll get to play non-stop every day! These holiday months sure are my favorite months of the year. I get to walk with my family in the Turkey Trot and then a few weeks later, we celebrate Christmas...and I have my own stocking with treats in it!
I just can't help but smiling...

It's the Holiday Season Again!!!

And my whole family is together!! It's been SO much fun to get to wake up my brother and sister each morning. When they are away at college I miss them so much. I've been able to cuddle with both of them and they keep telling me how soft and warm I am. Yesterday we even did the Turkey Trot again as an entire family! It was so crowded with so many other dogs, but I still tried my best to keep up with my mom and dad. After they came home, they gave me some leftover turkey and ham. Today I played with all four of them all day long, and I am very tired right now. Actually, I think I'll just stop talking and go to sleep...

It's Finally Summer!!

WOW! My mom came home from school today with the biggest smile on her face! She even brought me a new tennis ball that I haven't been able to drop out of my mouth--man is it soaked! She told me that it is finally her summer vacation. That means that I'll be seeing so much more of her and the rest of the family. I sure dig this...I won't have much time to sleep at all during the day anymore. Maybe she will have so much fun with me she will decide not to go back to being a teacher this fall--NOT! Someone has to pay for my expensive dog food and treats, right?

Hey all you Dallas Doods out there...

Tomorrow my mom and dad are taking me to another Doodle Romp at the Downtown Dallas Dog Park! I can hardly wait... And I may even get to meet Vince Young and Major Applewhite, two of my virtual pal doods that I have been wanting to romp with for awhile.

I hope that you can join us on Saturday, April 28th at 10AM. The location is at Commerce and Good Lattimer, and the traffic on Saturday is really good for getting downtown easily.

My mom even bought me a special red bandana that says it is National Dood Romping Day!

I hear the Christmas music!

Season's Greetings, all my doggie friends!
My family has been running around the house all day. It is THAT time of the year again! We are listening to THE MESSIAH and they are taking all the stuff out of the boxes and decorating the house. I keep trying to reach the same Christmas bear they taunt me with every year, but n-o-o--, I can't even taste him this year. He sings all these cool songs that make me feel like dancing. There is a big new green tree in the living room, and before long, there 's gonna be some packages under the tree for me! They already showed me my stocking--I had forgotten how cool it is. SO...I sure hope your family is having this much fun. I think I can even smell those new tennis balls already!

I Can't Wait...

until October 7th! That's the day that my mom just told me I'm gonna go to another Doodle Romp in Dallas. This will be my third romp, and this time I'm gonna meet some new doods who are my virtual friends already--Major Applewhite and Vince Young--two labradoodles who live in Plano! I can't wait to romp with them. We all will be barking for the UT Longhorns who will be playing that day. If you live closeby, please come to the BarkPark in Downtown Dallas at 10:00 that morning, OK? I sure want to meet you!

when is it gonna cool down??

Ok guys. I love summer cause my teacher parents are home and they spend a lot of time with me. But I'm getting sick of this inside-the-house stuff. I mean day after day it is over 100 degrees outside in this place called Texas. And they don't want me to get sick from the heat. But this is getting to be SO old. Yeah, I know I'm getting walked some mornings, but why can't I just hang outside in the afternoons like I used to??

And then you they go and buy this cool sprinkler, but they won't let me run through it as much as I want to. Yes, I know I start coughing from all the water I drink so fast and yes, I know I get dirty and trample mud on the carpets, but come on already! I'm only two and I need to have some fun, right?

Mom and dad... you may think I am stupid, but I'm really not. First my brother goes off to college and now my sister's room is cleaned out. Tonight I saw you leave with those big suitcases...I saw you hug and cry together. What did you think I was doing when I was standing so close to you? I wanted to get in your hug too, but NO you said. Well I'm gonna miss my sister when she is in Australia. Now you won't have anyone but me to spoil, right? I'll like that, but I sure am gonna miss jumping into her bed in the mornings and annoying her when she is trying to read a magazine. So don't think that I haven't noticed what is going on in this house and thatI don't care, OK?

Why does he have to go?

O.K. I just got used to having my big brother home from UT. It has been so cool chasing him around the house--nobody runs faster than David. And I have gone wild this entire winter break. But now why does he have to go back to college? Hasn't it been fun for him, too? I mean, sitting in a lecture hall for hours a day just can't compete with all the fun that we have had. I'll miss him, that's for sure. And then my big sister is leaving in two weeks for Australia, of all places! My mom and dad told me she will be very far away and I won't get to see her for a long time. And it already has gotten pretty lonely around here now that mom and dad are back at work during the day. I think I need another dog around here to play with. Did you hear that mom and dad?
