Arrival Story:
Lotto is a wonderful senior girl who was brought to a shelter after being found wandering on a highway. She's currently visiting the Rog-and-Tami family, and she is a most courteous and gracious guest! Please read her story below!

Bio:
Hello, everyone. My name is Lotto, and I am an 11 year old heeler mix. I was named Lotto because when I came to the shelter, my luck changed dramatically for the better. You see, I was lost, hungry, cold, and wandering along a busy highway. I could not see well, and was barely able to walk. Some nice people saw me, encouraged me to get in their car (I do enjoy car rides), and brought me here to the shelter. Now, I have a warm place to rest my weary old bones, delicious and nutritious meals, and lovely staff members and volunteers who are so kind to me. I surely have won the lottery! I am a quiet, gracious, and gentle senior lady. All I want is a peaceful home with a loving family with whom to live out my final years. I am not a noisy or demanding sort, so you will find me to be very little trouble, I am sure. In return, I will give you my everlasting love and appreciation. I have won the hearts of several of the volunteers here at the shelter with my beautiful, sad, and trusting eyes, my modest and unassuming demeanor, and my enjoyment of small pleasures. Please give me a chance to win you over, too.

The last couple of days have not been good for me. The abscess on my jaw was found to be malignant. I've been increasingly weak and have had a hard time getting on my feet. I have needed pain relief badly, but am extremely difficult to medicate.

Today, the difficult decision was made to let me take my journey to the Rainbow Bridge. I was surrounded by some of the friends I've made at the shelter. My friends, please don't be sad for me. I'm grateful that I've slipped the bonds of pain and disease, and am running free again.

This week, the nice folks at the shelter gave me a much-needed dental treatment! You should see how white and shiny my teeth are now. The wonderful veterinarian also took care of a very painful abscess in my lower jaw. My appetite has improved greatly, as has my outlook!

Well, how did I wind up in this situation? I'm a lovely and well-mannered older lady who should be living out my retirement years in a nice home with loving people. Instead, I've wound up homeless. How did that happen, I wonder?

I'm so thankful for the kind people who found me and took me to the shelter. Now, I have a second chance at happiness.

The good people at the shelter are getting me the medical care I desperately need. I seem to have some pain in my rear legs, and I need some urgent dental care. I'm hoping to be just fine very soon, and then I'll begin my search for my forever home in earnest!
