Likes: Any type of ball! I am OBSESSED with playing fetch, despite the fact that I am not a good catcher. I usually run right over the ball after it drops, and then have to spend a few seconds looking around for it. I never learned how to play.
Pet-Peeves: Dogs entering my personal bubble (space) and doorbells. I hope to get better.
Favorite Toy: My favorite toys are balls (outside only) and stuffed animals. I am VERY good and I do not destroy the stuffies!
Favorite Food: If it goes into my mouth and is edible, I like it. I LOVE canned pumpkin, salmon, and carrots.
Favorite Walk: As long as I am out walking, I really don't care. I will be happy when it warms up, because I do not like the cold temps (unless there is snow to play in).
Best Tricks: I shake, beg, and am learning to roll-over. I can walk on my hind legs for quite some time. I also do butt-tuck runs, spins, and flips anywhere I can (especially after I poop)!
Arrival Story: My new mommy and daddy adopted me from the local no kill Humane Society on 11/07/2009. I had been there for over 8 months and had a lot of people looking at me, but no one seemed to want me. Maybe it was because I was VERY hyper in my kennel? My evergy may have scared a lot of people off. I was simply trying to show people how much fun I could be, but I guess they didn't like it. My new hoomans came right to me and wanted to play with me. They saw me on Petfinder, and I was SOOO excited! I knew that they were the ones. I tried to tell them that I would calm down once I got into my permanent home...and I did! I have been the perfect little angel. I took to my new life very fast and my hoomans say that I act as if I have been in their lives forever. They tell me everyday how much they love me, and I love them. I am so glad that someone finally thought I was worthy of going to their home and into their hearts. Thank you mommy & daddy!
Bio: I was a stray, and because of that, my past is unknown. I LOVE people, but I am not sure about other dogs just yet. I do go to doggie daycare and have lots of fun, but I am not too fond of dogs when I am on a leash. Sometimes I ignore them, other times I growl and bark at them. I love to give all hoomans kisses, but not all hoomans give kisses back to me. Why?
Me and my hoomans have started obedience classes. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad about that. I do know basic commands, but I tend to ignore them when I am focused on something else (like my toys). I also hear words like "get Kayla into flyball", "agility", or "schutzhund" and I think those are good things! I am a very smart doggie, so I know I can make my hoomans proud!

Nothing much going on in my world. I am ready for the warmer weather so that I can play outside much longer. This stuff that they call winter is for the birds (or polar bears). Don't get me wrong, I like to play in the snow. It is SO much fun, but I cannot stay out long because I get too cold.
This weekend was pretty nice. We had a heat wave, and the temps got up to about 50 degrees. Unfortunately, it was rainy off and on. Mommy and daddy took me on a good walk on Sunday in between bouts of rain. We got to play by ourselves in an area at a park where they have concerts at. They were working with me and the "come" command. I do great if there aren't any distractions. It started to sprinkle as we were playing, and then the sky opened up! We had to run back to the car, which wasn't too far away, but it wasn't close when there is a downpour of rain. But, I got a good workout anyway. Lucky me. I don't mind the rain too much. I just don't like spending too much time in it.
The temps dropped yesterday, and we got about an inch of snow last night. I played out in it for short while, but the wind was so bad, it made it even colder.
I hope other pups are having better weather than I am.
Long time no write. Nothing exciting has been going on. I have been cooped up inside a lot because I do NOT like the cold temps and wind.(windchills in the double digits sometimes). Since I do not have much hair, I get cold fast. I have sweaters, coats, and boots, but it doesn't help. I cannot play ball outside because I have boo-boos near my dew claws that bleed A LOT. Mommy and Daddy took me to the vet to see what could be done, and we were told that they are ulcerations. Not sure what they are caused by. It may be because I hadn't used my feet so hard due to being cooped up in the shelter for almost 9 months. Maybe it is the cold weather. No one can figure it out. Leave it to me to be so odd. Vet said they could remove my dew claws, but isn't sure that would help. I don't like that idea, and neither do my pawrents. But, I think they would do it if my boo-boos continue whenever the weather gets warm. Right now we are waiting it out.
So...mommy and daddy went right out and bought me MuttLuks. I don't mind them much at all. But, they put toddler socks on me and THEN the MuttLuks. My hoomans hope that it would protect my front feet, but it doesn't help much. It must be the way I run and play. We will keep trying to figure out what works best. But for now, I am stuck inside again while my boo-boos heal. They take good care of cleaning and putting ointment on my boo-boos. It is ok, really. I so love to snuggle with my hoomans on the couch, in bed, in a chair, or on the floor in front of the fire. Plus, they play with me A LOT in the house.
Last week, we got about 5 inches of snow. I know that isn't much compared to many other places where my pup pals live, but it is a lot for me. Mommy came home early the day that it snowed, and she played with me out in the backyard for a long time. My feet weren't too bad that day, but she didn't allow me to run real hard. Plus it was hard to run through the fresh, fallen snow. Ohhhhh, it was SO fun!
Going to go take a quick nap before daddy comes home.
Today is the big day. It is Christmas. I got some gifts on Christmas Eve from my mommy's family, and I got MORE gifts today from mommy and daddy! I have so many new toys, I don't know what to do with myself. But...I so want to go outside and play ball, but I can't. It is pouring down rain. It has been raining for 2 days. I am bummed. I just sit at the front door watching the rain come down.
Daddy left a bit ago to go spend some time with grandparents and one side of his family. Mommy stayed home because she has a fever of 101. She didn't want to spread germs to everyone. She may end up going to one of those MedCheck places today to get better. We are both stuck in the house on Christmas. At least we have each other to keep company. The Christmas tree is lit and we are watching "Christmas Vacation". It still isn't playing ball, but it will have to do for now. Mommy said that it is supposed to get cold this afternoon and possibly snow. If it does, then I can go outside and play ball with daddy. Mommy will stay inside and just cough and sneeze.
