Arrival Story:
Sophie was found wandering in the rain along the highway and brought into the police station when I was working. It had been over a week and her "owner" hadn't called, so the man who brought her in had first dibs at adopting her, and although he was originally interested in adopting her, he ended up changing his mind because having to wait the legal five days was taking too long. Then, her "owner" FINALLY called and was annoyed that she would have to pay a very large "bail out" fee along with a citation for having a dog at large. The "owner" said she'd be in to pay the fines, but of course flaked out, so she was given the 5 day notice that if she didn't pay the fees to reclaim Sophie that she would be up for adoption. So, to make this long story short, the shelter called us to let us know we could adopt her and we jumped at the chance because I love pugs! These other people have no idea what they missed out on! She is sweet and sassy and is turning out to be a wonderful addition to our doggy family.

I've been at my new home now for almost a month and I think I'm going to like it here. My new mommy and daddy are very loving and sweet to me and make me feel like I'm special. Oh, and they love to cuddle with me which makes me really happy! They even bought me a new collar special made by Linden Line Designs and gave me bling to wear on the collar that they call tags. The one I like best is shaped like a star and has my name, my parents' names, and their phone numbers in case I decide to try and run again. Although, the few times I've tried to run Daddy always catches me. I guess he really loves me and doesn't want me to get away!

I'm still getting used to my new brothers and sister. They both seem to like me most of the time and will let me cuddle with them, too, although sometimes Matilda is not in the mood and will let me know it. I guess she's like that with George, too. I like to try and get Benny to play with me and usually he's pretty easy to get going, but sometimes Mati has to get in the mix and it feels like they're ganging up on me a little, but Mommy or Daddy are always watching to ensure that doesn't happen. I can tell that Benny doesn't enjoy the idea of sharing the bed with me very much. He will only "burrito" under the covers if I'm not near him, but I like to "burrito" as well, and they've nicknamed me Sophita Burrita. I'm hoping he'll come around soon.

I recently got to go with them to this place called Idaho and met a whole bunch of family members who seemed to really like me. They all cooed over how cute I am and also loved giving me cuddles. It was REALLY cold, though, and I had to walk around in this cold, white stuff called snow every time we had to go out and potty. It didn't stop me from running around and playing outside, but it sure made me have to shiver until we could go back inside and camp out in front of the wood stove.

Overall, things seem to be going well as we're all still adjusting, but I think I'm really gonna like it here.
