The grown-ups really wanted a Pug, the child really wanted a Chihuahua. Two weeks later, we found our little "Monster" for sale by a private party. He was the perfect mix and we even liked his name!

Bio:
Whenever he want's to escape the everyday stress of life in the house, Monzie retreats to his nest under the bed where he hoards tissue and papers that he tears into tiny pieces. He embellishes his decor with stolen underwear and socks and hides there when he's been bad.

Death By Chocolate 2/16/05

Whew! What a day. I got to ride in the car today while taking Boy to school. I'm always well behaved in the car on my own so Boy and Big Man left me in the car while they went across the street. Suddenly I smelled something REALLY good! I dug around the front seat of the car and found a white box with a picture of a sweet old woman on the front. I popped the box open and..TA DAAA...paradise! There was a half box full of chocolate! Chocolate covered nuts, chocolate covered caramels, chocolate everything! It tasted really good and I must have eaten about 18 pieces before Big Man came back. He was pretty angry.
He put me in the back seat, I knew I had been bad but he wasn't just mad, he seemed really worried. I don't know why...I felt great! When we got home, he made a phone call and then we went right back into the car. He took me to the place where I got my nails clipped and got my ears checked. There's a nice guy there in a white smock who came in and talked for a few minutes to Big Man. I was a little nervous and started to shiver a little. Then all of the sudden the man in white picked me up and said Good bye to Big Man. HEY! Why am I being left behind?
I soon found out. They put some eyedrops in my eyes. It didn't hurt, but a few minutes later I felt kind of queezy. Then more queezy ....and then REALLY queezy. There was only one thing I could do....PUKE! So I did, all over the place. I spewed every last bit of chocolate, caramel and nuts that were in my tummy. Man, that's hard work!
They cleaned me up and then I got to rest for awhile until Boy and Mom came and picked me up. Ya know, I may be crazy, but I have a feeling that eating the chocolate and throwing up were somehow connected. I might think twice about eating chocolate again.............NAH! Who am I kidding?

Adjusting

Well, I'm finally getting adjusted to my new home. I lived my first year of life in Pleasant Hill with a very nice couple. Now I'm in Petaluma and things are a little different, but I'm getting used to it. My new boy, Nicolas, is a lot of fun! We wrestle a lot and I love to fetch the ball that he throws. I also really like walking by the river. There are a lot of smells around town that are really interesting.
I would really like to sit on my new family's lap when they eat, but for some reason they won't allow this. I try really hard, sometimes too hard and then I end up having a time out in my "pouting bed". Yes, I have a small bed that I like to go pout in when things don't go my way! Hmmf!
Bedtime is really fun! The first few nights I slept downstairs.....uh...not fun! Everyone else got to sleep upstairs...but not me! Then they let me sleep upstairs...but not in their beds. Man, what's a doggie gotta do to get some respect? FINALLY, they gave in. Now when Nicolas goes to bed, I stay up with the parents and relax. When they go to bed, I like to crawl in under the covers. Sometimes they can't see me 'cause I roll up into a little ball. Other times I stretch all the way out into a long dog log. Either way, I am always under the cover. Then, when it's time for lights out, I get moved into Nicolas' room and that's where I spend the rest of the night, curled up next to my buddy!
Well that's it for now! Until next time....
