Arrival Story: I met my dear, loyal Max for the first time at the West Valley Shelter in Northridge, CA. He was a little puppy then (about 15 pounds soaking wet) and it looked like he was wearing a little black and white tuxedo (his gorgeous coat). In any case, the first time we met, he sighed in my arms and then licked my face...I did not need to look any further; I knew he was the one.

Bio: According to the shelter, Max, whom I met at 3 mos old., had been a stray...He seemed to love his "cell-mate," a shaggy golden puppy about the same age, and really needed a good home. My ex-husband wanted to look at other dogs and other shelters, but I said, "No, let's get this guy." Only then, the ASPCA had to do a "parvo test" on Max to determine whether or not he was healthy; if the results for parvo came back positive, they were going to euthanize this sweet creature...Luckily, that did not happen. And Max is snoring on my bed right now, a distinguished 8 year-old dog, who loves to dream and to wag his tail.
