Any lake, pond, or puddle. Also a stuffed mallard duck plush toy.
Anything she's not supposed to have. Veteran counter-surfer....
Swimming some more.
She was the "free replacement puppy" offered to us by the breeder of our first Newfie puppy, after it turned out that our beloved Samwise was very, very ill and would not possibly recover at six months old. (Sam was genetically flawed, and had all sorts of problems, but he DID NOT pass away that day in surgery, but managed a full life for 17 more months, dying in my arms in our living room at 23 months.) Chloe has been our baby girls ever since, and is the wonderful loving bouncy monster that all Newfs are.
Chloe is a "small" Newfoundland, weighing in at only 115 lbs. She is very active, and has been clocked on radar (literally, I have a small gun used for timing balls and such) at over 25 mph. She is also capable of clearing a four-foot fence, if she has a mind to do so. Luckily, she's a good girl and doesn't tend to do that.
She did go walk-about once when we were vacationing a few hours away. My step-son and his wife were watching the animals, and Chloe decided to go for a stroll. We got a panicked call at 2 AM, made a mad dash 150 miles home, and found her waiting for us when we opened the door. Someone had found her, called the number on her AKC collar tag (THOSE ARE A GREAT THING!), and delivered her to our back yard while we were dashing home. I called several times to thank the person who found her, but they never answered their phone or replied in any way. We are still grateful to them, though.
I'm just a big furry fishy!
