Arrival Story:
We were looking for a small-ish dog while we were living with my parter's cousins because they have 2 small dogs. We have always wanted a small dog and a big dog, so we thought we would get the small one first, since we didn't have our own house yet. For weeks and weeks we were going from rescue to rescue and searching online rescues for a small dog. The rescue in Lakewood (Kathy's K9 Rescue) called us and said they would have small dogs on a Tuesday. It just so happened that both my partner and I got sick that day and had to stay home from work (it's really true!), so we figured it was a sign and went to the rescue. We were looking at the doggies, trying to decide on one, when Nancy (who run's the rescue) sayd she had one more box to bring in. She brought the box of pups from her car and, right as we looked, Amber popped her little head out and said "take me home!" We couldn't resist. They thought she was 9 weeks old, and for her size that would have made her a small dog, but the vet said she was definately only 6 weeks and we were in for a mid-sized one. Luck with us as always, we bought a house just as Amber was getting growing bigger (when she was around 25 pounds) and getting just a little too big for the small-dog doggie door. We think she's the absolute perfect size now, and can't belive what a love she is!

Bio:
Amber is the sweetest thing. She gets most excited when the alarm goes off in the morning and she is allowed to jump on the bed, right after she finishes eating, when we come home from work or anywhere, and when company comes over (canine or human). When she gets REALLY excited, she doesn't just wag her tail, but the whole back half of her body and she bends in half and does this silly grimmace thing, so you can have a perfect view of her face and her tail at the same time! Such a cutie!!!

Finally!!! Mommies took me to the doctor's yesterday, and at first it sucked. I went with them into that stupid white room that I hate and always try to not go into, but they made me anyways. Told me I was a good girl, then I got excited and distracted, and next thing I knew I was in and the door was closed... Poo, how do they do that every time? Anyways, then these people came it who were all nice and petting me, then all of the sudden they started poking at my feet and going at them with these things that looked like what my momma's use to cut my nails. I wanted to say "No, that's not your job, and besides, my foot was hurting a few meals ago and it's S-E-N-S-A-T-I-V-E!" but mommies told me to be good and quiet and I tried, but I started whining after a while cuz it took SOOOO long. But, then they stopped and told me I was good and mommy came and TOOK THAT HARD THING OFF MY HEAD! Well, I didn't know what to do with myself at first, but then I got really excited and we got in the car. I had a good car ride home, checking out my foot. That extra toe I used to have on the inside of both my feet were gone! Is that what was hurting me? If so, then good riddence! I never used it for anything anyways, and that's one less nail cutting to be done.

Then, I went home and played and played with my sister, Zorra. Oh, and I played with our new little friend Zoe, too. Momma said she is just a guest and will only be staying with us for a little while. I met her Daddy before and he's nice. I wonder where he went? Oh well, I love having a new buddy to play with. Mommies call her a "Boston Terrier." I told them to take a picture of her so she can be on Dogster, too, as part of our temporary family, and they said they would, so look out dogster! Here comes Zoe Sophia.... as soon as I get those pictures, that is. Hurry up, Mommas!

What IS this thing on my head?

My momma's brought me to the doctor's office many, many meals ago cuz my foot was hurting me. Now, my foot doesn't hurt anymore, but I have this weird, hard thing around my head. At first, I had this stuff around my paw, and it was kinda fun to chew and tasted sticky and like toys, but just as I was having fun and chewed some of it off, my mommies looked all worried, then left (where DO they go?-thoughts for another time), and came back with this hard thing that they put around my head and now I can't reach any part of me. I hope this thing doesn't last forever, but momma's know best, so I will be happy no matter what. I even found out how to play with my nylabone by propping it on the floor and standing up. My mommies say I am a very smart girl!
