Quick Bio:
-dog rescue

Likes:
She loves to run and jump. With her high energy level she gets into "fits" and will tear from one end of the apartment to the other, over and over and over. She LOVES to torment the cat and endlessly chases him, often enlisting the other dogs to help.

Pet-Peeves:
Baths and nail trims. Oh, and the cat!

Favorite Toy:
Anything. Literally, she will pick up anything she can carry and run with it. She does seem to prefer Roy's stuffed squirrel and takes it whenever she can get away with it.

Favorite Food:
For being a stray and then fed a shelter diet, she immediately learned what people food is! She doesn't get it, but she boldly comes looking for whatever you have and begs like a pro.

Favorite Walk:
Through the neighborhood.

Best Tricks:
Yet to be determined....

Arrival Story:
Mira was in the shelter that I started volunteering at on the weekends. Putting myself in a facility full of dogs is like putting alcohol in front of an alcoholic, but I really had no intentions of adopting one; I work lots of hours and the two dogs and cat we already had were enough work. Though a sweet and cute little dog, Mira was just an obnoxious little yapper who never shut up! She touched my heart though and I found I couldn't stop thinking about her. She really was a cute little thing who craved attention and did whatever she could to be heard and stand out from all the other dogs. She had been at the shelter for five months, which really is a long time. The staff said they had zero interest or inquiries about her and she suffered from "brown chihuahua" syndrome, meaning she was one of a million that nobody wanted. I caved and took her home and she had no trouble transitioning! She adapted immediately to sleeping burrowed in blankets and pillows in a bed every night, digging through a toy box full of toys to play with and being showered with love and affection. She has a whole other side to her personality that you couldn't see in the shelter and she is the sweetest, most loving little dog ever. I'd never part with her now.

Bio:
She was picked up as a stray in South Central L.A., aka 'The Hood', with no further info available about her. She has a large scar that runs from her sternum down under one of her front legs, and that leg has obviously had some injury to it as it has healed in an unnatural angle. She is also missing a toe on her front right foot. Who only knows what this poor little girl endured while wandering the streets, it breaks my heart to think about it.
