Affection, long walks and his red Kong ball

He's still a little stubborn and doesn't like to come when he's called. We're working on it. He also doesn't care much for my cat hissing at him when he's in the mood to play. He doesn't really realize how big he is next to the kitty.

Favorite Toy:
Again, the Kong ball...Really, anything made by Kong. He also loves plush toys, but he destroys them too quickly, so back to the sturdy standby Kong toy.

Favorite Food:
He's actually pretty happy with his dog food, which is a high-end, organic brand that keeps him happy and shiny. :o)

Favorite Walk:
Throughout the neighborhood, but particularly by the lake, where he gets to meet lots of new people and other doggies. Jake loves other dogs of all sizes and is always happy to make new friends.

Best Tricks:
He'll walk beside me and if I stop, he'll jump backwards or run a circle around me to get back in place. He will also speak and high-five me. We're still in training, so he'll be learning more fun tricks soon.

Arrival Story:
I adopted Jake from the Orange County chapter of Coastal German Shepherd Rescue. He had been languishing in a shelter with scabs/calluses on his elbows from having to lay on the concrete for so long. He is such an amazing dog...I don't know why he wasn't adopted sooner. He lights up my life and brings so much joy. I'm blessed to be his guardian and friend. :o)
