Wellness Core *loves it*
Everywhere, every thing is new to him
Stay, Come, and laydown. He's still getting use to being a pet. We are proud of his efforts.
We were thinking of adopting a dog and the first thing that came to my mind was that we should first concider a greyhound rescue. My husband agreed as greyhounds make great apartment dogs and me working at a pet daycare and grooming luxury facility he can come to work with me every day.
We went online to find a rescue, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey had a great selection and a bunch of listings of adoptable dogs with pictures. They were going to be at a Petsmart near us the fallowing Saturday with some of the dogs so we went to check them out.
"A Star Shotgun" was his race name and there he was.
We did not know we would be adopting him at the time. We ended up contacting the rescue a day or two later after puttin in the application to find out if we had to do anything else.
We told the adoption we were interested in " A Star Shotgun" and she thought we were great for him, as the foster mom remembered us from the meet and greet at Petsmart. She decided to come by our house the fallowing weekend and see how the dog would do with our stairs, and our other 2 pets, Lily, our little dog and Argus the cat.
He did great and the fallowing week we picked him up and he joined our family on my Husbands birthday weekend. It was perfect timing.
Grimlock was born in Iowa, and was registered as a race dog on March, 20th 2008. He never won a race. Lucky for us because they would have kept him longer if he had. He ended up at the Birmingham Race Course in July 09 in Alabama, and made his way to New Jersey in September or October this year, when GFNJ took him in to help him find US, his forever home.
I finally won!
