Arrival Story:
I was discovered in the fall of 1993 at the local WalMart. My mom, her brother and her sister were going shopping with their mom that fateful Saturday morning and as they got close to the store they saw some people with free puppys standing out front. Mom asked if she could stay outside and play with us. Her mom said okay but not to stray from there and if we were all given away before she came out mom was to come inside and wait at the checkouts and for mom's brother to stay too, baby sister had to go in cause she was too little to be outside and would wander off. Well let me tell you mom was sneaky and she and her brother conspired to get me home. Grandma and my little auntie went inside did the shopping and when they came out mom and uncle were ready to go. What grandma didn't know was that I was coming along for the ride. See mom had on this big jacket and she had me zipped up inside. I guess you can say mom and uncle gave the people the slip, not that they really cared I mean they were there giving us away so one less pup was great. Well mom acted like she was pouting and had her arms crossed, I was in her arms by the way, so grandma had no idea that mom had me. Grandma put the bags in the trunk while mom, uncle, and little auntie got in the car. Mom and uncle kept little auntie from saying anything. When they got home mom rushed out of the car and only then did grandma see that mom was holding something. Boy did mom get yelled at and so did uncle. Grandma called grandpa to come out and get the bags and little auntie because she had to take me, mom, and uncle back to the store to return me to the people giving me away. Too late, by the time they got back to the store the people were gone. That meant back home and big trouble from grandpa or so grandma thought. All mom had to do was look at her dad with her big brown eyes and say please daddy can I keep her and he melted like butter in July. For the first few weeks I stayed in the little bathroom, when I wasn't with mom that is, learning the potty routine until I could be trusted when no one was home not to potty on the floor. Soon though I joined mom in her room. I slept with mom at night, followed mom everywhere and when they went to see their grandparents I got to go too. I was one spoiled girl.

Bio:
I was mom's constant companion for over ten years. I even went to her ballgames on occasion. Then one day it happened, mom went away. They told me mom was going to college and that I couldn't be with her because I wasn't allowed. I missed mom so much and I begged her to take me with her each time she came to visit. Now I wasn't a young pup anymore and time plus all the goodies mom snuck me over the years were catching up to me. My body was giving out a little at a time. I had a hard time climbing the stairs and breathing was getting hard too. Let's face it my time was nearly up and grandma saw it each day as I struggled to go about the daily activities. Grandma says that after mom went away to school I just didn't have the pep anymore and I seemed to be depressed. Well I was and without mom I just didn't know what to do with myself, mom was my world and she was gone. Grandma was watching me closely as the days passed, mom had been gone now for about two years, and she saw it in my eyes that the life was leaving me. My last few days I barely did anything except lay on a pillow. Grandma told grandpa that something was really wrong and they both looked at me, I knew the end was near so I asked them with my eyes to please let me go. They called mom and told her I was fading fast and that they wanted to ease my pain. I could hear mom crying, my body may have been giving out but my eyes and ears still worked fine. It was the second hardest thing for them to do telling mom. The hardest came the next day when they sent me on my way to the Rainbow Bridge. Grandpa took me in and held me as I slipped peacefully away. I have been hear at the bridge now for just over two years. Oh I miss mom and all the family but I watch over them. I was welcomed by my Aunt Libby who passed way too soon at not quite 8 months and have welcomed my Aunt Dori just this year. I have met many cats and dogs, some of them family some friends of the family. I am healthy and happy just like when mom brought me home all those long years ago.
