Gotcha Date: October 20th 2009 Birthday: July 17th 2009 Likes: Car Rides, Dogs, Dog Park, Agility, BALLS. Pet-Peeves: Vacuums and Shovels! Favorite Toy: Frisbee, Tennis Ball, Soccer Ball, Basically any ball! And Ironically, any toy that is a Sheep! Favorite Food: Orijen dog food, and any kind of treats! More-so cheese! Favorite Walk: She doesn't mind, but I think she likes it best when we go to the lake to swim! Best Tricks: If you count agility as a trick, that's her best trick! Other than that, she likes to shut doors, speak, spain, and shake a paw best! Arrival Story: I had always wanted a dog. I had researched on dogs, the different breeds, the dog sports, training for a long time. I waited 15 years, begging for a dog. One day, my dad gave in and I was coming home with my 12 week old black/white Border Collie on October 20th 2009! I never wanted a Border Collie, I actually wanted an Australian Shepherd. Now, I never want anything OTHER than a Border Collie! =)

http://www.youtube.com/user/Court2 2132?feature=mhum Bio: Shyloh (Born July 17th, 2009) is my purebred Border Collie. She is a female, completely black and white, with some brown tinged areas(but not considered a tri-colour). She is Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) registered and she is registered with the CBCA (Canadian Border Collie Association). She has papers for everything that has ever happened (vaccinations, CBCA registration, obedience classes, etc.) We keep track of everything. She is from a local (and reputable) breeder named Karen Sheets. Karen's website is: www.bordercolliesbykaren.ca.
Shyloh knows over 40 different commands/tricks. I have been teaching her tricks/obedience since I got her at 12 weeks. I teach her using Clicker Training and positive methods (known as Positive Reinforcement). She will wilfully perform all of her tricks when I ask. Her favourite trick is either "Closing Doors", "Take a Bow" or "Shake a Paw". She has attended, and completed, 2 levels of obedience classes at PetSmart in Edmonton, Alberta.
Shyloh is in training for dog agility. We started training agility foundation while she was 12 weeks-1 year. After 1 year old, we started training the "big dog" stuff. She has completed the beginner, intermediate 1, and intermediate 2 agility class at For Paws in Leduc, Alberta. We will be continuing on to Advanced in Spring 2011.
We had our first trial in February 2011, and we came home placing Second and earning a Q in Starters Jumpers. We competed with the AAC (Agility Association of Canada). Our second trial was a mess, as Shyloh was very sick during that day. We plan to practice more over the summer and then try trialing again! Forums Motto: Crazy Agility Pooch! Wow, it's been a long time since I have written on this! I've been with my owner now for a year and a half, and my 2nd birthday is this July 2011! We have been doing quite a bit since the last diary post. We've taken up agility, and gotten fairly far in the sport! It's a ton of fun and really makes me sleep well at night! We made a bunch of equipment and took a bunch of classes. I went to my first agility trial in February 2011 and went home with a Q and 2nd Place in the Starters Jumpers category! What a good doggie I am! It was so much fun, I was so tuckered out!
Today, since the snow is almost fully melted, we brought the equipment out to the backyard and did some little drills. I did a very good job. My distance work is amazing for only doing agility for a year! Less than a year with real equipment! My favorite was the tire jump! I haven't gotten to play with the tire jump outside yet. I can't wait till I can get outside and do some more agility with my 2 legged pal!

So today I got to go for a long walk with Lucky. We went to the park and all the little kids loved me. I love them also. I am still a bit timid when dogs are barking. I need to work on that. It scares me. Lucky and I played in the backyard for hours today.
Apparently I am not a very good girl. I was eating some plastic and my mom yelled "NO" and then grabbed me quickly because I like to swallow little things as quickly as I can. This was a sharp piece of plastic too so it couldn't of been good for me. I bit her in the thumb really hard. I also was growling. I guess I am not a very good girl, thats the first time I have ever done that though. I guess I need to stop. My puppy teeth hurt my humans.
But anyways, im going in the backyard to play before I go to bed in my crate. Talk to you later!
Today is Halloween. My mom is putting a terrible cheerleading costume on me because she thinks i look incredibly "cute". She says that everyone who comes to the door will want to pet me because im adorable, so why not dress me up. I disagree with her. I hate how i can't bolt out the front door and jump on those little kids. I've been trained not to run out the door. Its has almost been 2 weeks since i have been here, and apparently im pretty smart. I agree on that one! I haven't peed in the house for a couple days now, and that is pretty good! But a couple minutes ago i "accidentally" had an accident on the floor. I hope they forgive me, im only a puppy. I still haven't quite got the poop thing down yet, i always go to the front door to poop. Oh well, they understand. Im getting there! Anyways, im too busy eating my bone and terrorizing the cat. Have a Happy Halloween!!
