His own food, and a little egg (though he would probably eat eggs forever if I let him).
Favorite Walk:
Off leash down by the river on a warm day.
Best Tricks:
Pushing his ball to someone, waiting for it to be thrown, retrieving it, REPEAT. And climbing up to a (relatively) high perch, nosing the ball ever so slowly off the edge, pouncing on it as it hits the ground, REPEAT.
Arrival Story:
Little Spirit was one of over 500 plus dogs rescued from a woman in Eastern Oregon in 2003. I knew when I saw some of these dogs on the local news channel that I was ready to adopt and have a dog again. On the very first day the dogs became available, I went to our local humane society (GreenHill) ready to let a little dog adopt me if that was what was supposed to happen that day.
Before any potential adoptive parent could even see the dogs, we had to complete a 3 full page questionnaire - thank god my friend was with me because she wrote my answers down. Then there was a 20 minute interview. I guess I passed because I was finally allowed to go to the mostly glass enclosed viewing and meeting area. Just before I stepped in there was this little black dog with scars on his head who made eye contact with me, and then when I stepped into the room he ran around my feet. I picked him up and really never put him down again. I felt chosen.
He came home with me and lived and slept on my chest for a good 6 months. Today after 2 years of TLC and attending a "doggy day care" everyday (Dogs At Play), he is a much braver, healthier and happier little guy!

I am recovering from surgery on my back knee. Because I am soooooooooo zippy I must have zigged when I should have zagged and blew out my AC ligament. Recovery is going very well but I am not allowed to run with my friends at doggy day care yet. I do have new Santa pictures which will be added soon to my home page. If you look really closely you will see I had no idea who Santa is and it was scary but I prevailed. I want all my friends on dogster to have a warm, safe and peaceful holiday. Happy yip to each of you.

Just wanted to update my friends that I am doing very well at my doggie day care. Most of the time I get pretty good marks for my improving behavior. We have a motto at my school..... it says "My dog was naughtier before going to Dogs At Play." I am much healthier and buffer since my mom adopted me and I just want to tell all my dog friends and their parents that I am a very happy dog. But then so is my mom, after all she now has me. Well I will update this again soon and hopefully my aunt Chris will add some more updated pictures of me. Good bye for now. Little Spirit.
