We lost our Dane in July of '98. NO MORE DOGS!!! On my birthday in Oct. we saw this ad for Aussies, so we took a look and this little red furry ball came running out of the barn with her brother. That did it, she came home with us that day. She has been our best friend and companion ever since then. With all our kids grown and gone, she has become our "fur daughter."

Bio:
She is still a wonder protector. We have moved to the mountains of NC and all she needs to protect against are the wild animals that visit our property. Things like deer, bear, wild cats, turkeys and various small mammals. We also have an owl, eagle and very large hawk.

As you all know, mom and dad got a new puppy (Peaches) a while ago. You know dogs can't tell the length of time, but I think mom said it was a year or so ago. Well let me tell you, she drives me crazy. All she wants to do is PLAY!!!! Doesn't she realize that we have jobs to do around here? Boy oh boy, we have to bark when we hear strange noises, bark when other dogs come in the yard, bark at the meter man, all that stuff. She wants to play. .....and she is so big that she can just STAND and look out the window, not put her paws on the window sill like I do. She took over my window and now I have use another one. When I come in from outside (I get to run around, she doesn't) she will nip at my feet and lift my legs up sideways. I have to get ruff then and chase her around the couch. All in all though, I guess I love her. I worry when she is out and I am not. I whine at the door until mom either gets her in or lets me out. I pout too when she gets stuff to eat (usually I won't eat it anyways) and I don't. That doesn't happen too often. Mommy makes sure that I get something, even if it isn't the same stuff Peaches gets. She eats anything!!! Ugh. Carrots, watermelon....not me. I will eat a donut occasionally. Oh well, Mom just got home. That means no more time here. Take care everyone.

Well, grrr, ruff.....I have to clear my throat.

Sargeant tagged me with a special doggy message and I was sooooooo excited I just about peed on the floor. In any case, I am going to tag seven of my dogster friends now and here is how it goes...........

Here are the rules (Hint: Copy & paste the rules so you don't have to type them again):

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Here are my seven facts:

1-I have learned to be a good typist since my mommy got her "puter".
2-I LOVE the mountains (not the thunder).
3-I have many new friends here; Katie (Border Collie), Sugar (Jack Russell), Prissy (Italian Greyhound) and many dogs that just walk through the yard.
4-I have become a much better watch dog, now the meter man can't get near the meter, before he could.
5-I walk in the woods and inspect holes, leaves, twigs and all sorts of things that have strange animal smells on them.
6-I know every part of my yard, all 2 acres of it, and I patrol it everytime I go out to make sure no one or nothing has come on.
7-I am getting old (9 years) but I still run like the dickens when the bunnies come out to eat at night.

OK, another season in NC

Well, my mom finally left her machine on when she wasns't home and I could come here to let everyone know what is new. There is soooooo much to talk about. Since the last time I was here, we have gone through another winter, and it really isn't too bad. Not like it was at our other house where it was ALWAYS cold. Here we have a little snow, worth playing in for sure, but it doesn't last long. The only problem is my mom doesn't have to shovel and I don't get to run through the piles. I have met so many new dog friends too here. They come in my yard and we meet. There is Sugar, Prissy, Katie the Jack Russell, Katie the Border Collie, and then there are two dogs we don't know the names of but mommy and daddy call them Dumb and Dumber. They are really nice dogs but they keep crossing the big street out in front where all the cars go real fast. My brother came to visit when he got home from what mommy calls the "war", that was nice. I was worried about him. He brought his pup pal called Roxie, she is a Boxer. Don't know what that means but she sure was fun to play with. My sister came too, but she didn't bring her dogs. Well, its time to take our daily walk to the mail box, so I will go now. Talk with you all later.
