Arrival Story:
My Alice had died a year and a half prior and I decided it was time to get a new companion. I looked for over a month, and stopped at Pet Smart to see the Arizona Humane Society pets that were adoptable. Harley was there under the name "Wrinkles" and I instantly fell in love with him. We were only allowed to go in one at a time and there was one person in front of me. She went straight to Harley and I thought for sure she would adopt him. She told them she would think about it and walked out of the room and it was my turn to go in. She stood outside looking at him and I couldn't help but wonder why she hesitated, but I didn't! I sat down, pulled him into my lap and told them I wanted to adopt him. Ten minutes later he was mine (because I had taken the initiative in advance and had registered with the Humane Society when I had first started looking for a companion)!
