Arrival Story:
Bea came to us in the summer of 2009 as a "rescue" from the Mayflower Club and we (including Gus) went up to Maine to meet her. Although we were still grieving the loss of our darling and never (ever!) replaceable Gwennie, Gus seemed lonely after almost 10 months of being the only dog in the family. (It seems to me that corgis are *meant* to live in pairs!) Bea's former name was Bronte--or actually "The Fourth Bronte Sister"--but my son Owen (who is autistic and has a speech delay) could only say "B", which I later elaborated to Bea or Beatrice. Interestingly, Owen knows that her name is Bea and often "corrects" people on the pronunciation; he feels it should be pronounced "Bee-AH" because of the "a" at the end.
