Arrival Story: Norton is a 17 lb. cockapoo going through a rough time. His mom and dad have separated and there isn't a lot of time for him right now. This is creating some serious stress for Norton.
He currently lives with the dad he has known since he was a puppy. But he works 13+ hours a day and there is little time left to give Norton the love he needs and deserves. He is looking for a new family to give Norton a home.
Bio: Norton is up to date on all his shots. But he doesn't come without some baggage. Norton has nipped and he has bitten. He has been checked by a vet who says this is not a medical issue. The vet instead prescribed TRAINING.
Norton's dad admits he hasn't been properly and consistently trained. Norton has been evaluated by a dog rescue volunteer who strongly believes he can be rehabilitated by a strong leader who will not let him get away with things. Norton took correction well during the evaluation and truly wants to please. Norton's dad is now using a crate and taking away a lot of privileges that led Norton to believe he was "king of the house". This is a great first step but Norton's new family will need to commit to continuing the training while giving Norton a fresh chance in life.
Because of his history of nipping and biting, Norton cannot be rehomed to a family with children.
