Birthday: November 30th 1994 Arrival Story: I went and got Lord Nelson from a novice breeder (who knew at the time?). He became our first pug as well as our first inside dog. I got Nelson very young at 5 weeks (again, I was ignorant!) and we were lucky to have him 13 years. Nelson taught our family about love, about dignity. He had adult diabetes and required two insulin shots a day. He would wait while we injected his shoulder at mealtime twice a day. He would stand with dignity whenever he had to go endure more tests. Down to the end he stood with dignity. The vets haven't forgotten him, and one even made a donation to Texas A&M for research under his name. What an ideal companion!
