Well I supposed many of you wonder if I had that surgery. Nope since my hip stopped cracking momma decided to exercise me to keep the weight off and not have to do that thing.

We went to the Bernese Mtn Dog Specialty in Frankenmuth MI last may and had a ball! I was so adored at Zhender's restaurant that the waitress couldn't stop admiring my pretty face! *woof woof* I saw and greeted more of my kind than in a long time since my kennel! Oh yeah I saw my brother Boyd! He's looking like a big ol bear! I did get sick on Sunday morn long after everything was over with :( Momma was sure frettin over me! We went home for me to recuperate. Lucky for me it was a 24 hour bug... unfortunately my play pal Oddy got sick from what I had and she took over 3 days to get out of it. Poor Oddy!!!

We had so much fun at the specialty that momma is planning to head to Louisville KY next year may for the loads of fun she'll be heapin on me! Is this Rally something I should look forward to? *woof* Anything for my momma cuz I wuf her so much! Til next time...

Sybil

Homecoming

Sybil is now home. She hasn't yet had the hip replacement surgery due to that skin infection. We are going to try again come september. She was gone 2 1/2 months and boy the homecoming was bittersweet. Sybil missed us so much that she really laid on the berner LOVE!!!! Lots of hugs, kisses and pats :) Its amazing that she would even remember stuff after being away for that length of time. She still remembers to wake us up when she has to go to the potty!!! Wow!! Also a good thing that she hasn't forgotten a majority of her training.

April 16

It's sure quiet here... nothing new to report and very lonely without my Sibby. It looks like I will get her back in June. I would dearly love to hear from other berner owners. I long for paw pals to chat with and share a cup of coffee/tea with. :) Write anytime and I will respond.

Update

Sybil's surgery has been postponed due to finding pustules (skin infection) from my lack of not getting all the soap and residue off her skin when I gave her a bath. This is upsetting and distressing to have this happen. She's currently undergoing 3 weeks of antibiotics to clear that up. Her surgery is scheduled for mid-may. Such a long time to be without my snuggle bunny! I miss giving her an apple every evening.

Today Sybil has her hip surgery. Its hard being here and her so far away. At least I can be comforted with the thought of Bobbi being there for her. I do so fervently hope this goes well for Sybil. Its hard getting thru this as already lost one berner on the table... Its going to be a very long month without her around. At least Oddball is enjoying all the attention.

Leaving for surgery

Well I'm sitting here missing my snuggle bunny who left yesterday (3/6) with her breeder, Bobbi, to head back to the kennel where she came from before heading to Ohio State for her total hip replacement surgery. She's due to have the surgery March 9th. Being her new momma I do so worry! As I've lost my Bandit Bear in a surgical setting it was cutting too close to my emotional state. Bobbi will keep in touch with me as to how Sybil's outcome goes. Its too dang quiet here... the life is gone for the time being and it will be a long wait til April when she returns. More later...
