new trick! she can catch treats when thrown! slow motion excited jumping, pretty funny, sitting and doing the I'm SORRY thing (so funny) if she's naughty
Arrival Story:
I was lost and alone, I was dumped! I had puppies but I don't know what happened to them, I just can't remember how things went so WRONG! I was so SAD, then Big John found me and told me about this farm. He said he wasn't happy living where he was before and run away. He saw this lady with a bunch of dogs...and a nice big deck, and some cute goats. She'd come out seveal times a day and pet everybody and feed the goats. There was lots of running and playing and sometimes fetch games. Sometimes the girls herded goats too! What fun, so he asked if he could stay and the lady said YES. Then a while later he found his soon to be brother Sammy, yes Sammy got to stay too! "So Millie", Big John said, "come on,. I'll bet you get to stay too!"
Millie replied, "I don't know, Iam still very confused, I'll just watch for a while", so she did. Finally Millie got so lonesome after about a week, she crept up to the lady while she was feeding goats. She stood so quiet, it was good just to be with a person again. She didn't want to make any noise to spoil it. The lady looked at her! What would she do??? She reached down her hand!!! She patted Millie's head. She talked to Millie! Millie MELTED and so did the lady's heart! Even tho she had ENOUGH dogs, she made room for Millie.
Millie was a happy dog again and soon, she began to feel GOOD again and sure again and loved again.
and Millie decided to learn to help Big John and Sammy and little Widget guard the goats and keep them AWAY from the road!
And Millie says , "if you're ever around and want to see the strangest grouping of herding dogs ever, just come and watch US". But hey, it WORKS!, and that's what matters!
Bio:
I wish i knew her full story, i have a suspicion she was dumped off pregnant, and hid out in the timber...plenty of small game here. She goes CRAZY if she hears coyotes so I surmise that her pups may have come to a bad end when she was out hunting. She is such a sweet dog, I think the early part of her life must've been good. Maybe a change in circunstances made it necessary for her original owners to give her away. Somewhere between puppyhood and when she showed up here she had a BAD time. First time I tried to get her to jump up in the back of the pickup (we have racks) to take her to the vet, she threw herself on the ground in the "submissive " posture. I barely could force her into the cab... She has her own 'bedroom" upstairs, she has taken over the guest room. And if she really LIKES you, you will become a victim of THE Tongue and Tail. We do love her, she is a character!
