I love getting attention. To find out more, read the captions in my photo book.
I hate being left out of the fun.
I love squeaky toys. And soft fabric chew braids. And toys that crinkle.
I love Peanut butter, Natural Balance AMP, Milk Bones, and Natural Balance Lamb.
I love walking around our neighborhood. But I'm open to seeing new places.
I come when called.
I first saw Buddy sitting in my neighbor's yard. He watched me as I walked my dogs. There was no fence, but he was quietly sitting next to a large tree. The next day I spoke to the boy who owned him. I mentioned that with all the traffic on our street, he ought to keep his dog in a fenced area or inside his home. He insisted his dog knew better than to go in the street. I had seen that the dog had been well behaved, so I left it at that.
A couple of weeks ago another neighbor knocked on my door. She said one of my dogs was out in the street and I should go get it. Even though both my dogs were with me, I grabbed a leash and ran outside. I figured I could get the dog off the street, and worry about who he belonged to later. It was Buddy. I took him home and gave him to his owner.
The next day, I looked out the window and Buddy was out in the street again. I called him and he came to me. I put him in my yard and put a note on the door. When the boy got home he came over. I gave him some dog toys and a book about dog training. The next day I saw him walking Buddy on a leash, and I thought things were going to be okay. A few days later, the boy showed up at my door. He was returning the book. He said that he was going to get rid of Buddy. I asked what that meant. He wasn't sure, but he said they were not going to keep him.
I felt so sad. My husband came home and asked me what was wrong. I told him about Buddy. He said that although we could not take on another dog, maybe I could contact a dog rescue where I got my dog and they could help. That set things in motion. It was hard for the boy, but he decided to let us help Buddy. I promised him that I would make sure that Buddy found a home where he would be loved. Buddy is now with Life4Paws rescue and they are looking for a forever home for him.
Buddy seems to be mostly german shepherd, but his muzzle is a little wide for a purebred, so maybe he has some labrador retriever in his family tree. He is a good dog with a sweet, loving personality. He is going to be a great family dog.
I give unconditional love
