Back to normal

So Draco is officially healed! He's back to his normal fun-loving self and he's doing really well without the eye. The sunken in eye socket is quite noticable, but it does make people want to come over and see him, so he's been getting lots of love. Throughout this whole ordeal he has remained very strong and hasn't lost any of his personality. He did lose about 15lbs during this time, but he's putting the weight back on just fine. I hope that someone who's going through a similar experience is helped by Draco's story. We're all happy that he's back to his old self and that he's happy and healthy! I'll post some picks of his new face soon.

Update on Draco

So, thing have been rough for Draky the last month, but he's doing much better now. He had his eye removed last month and a silicon implant was put in and his eyelid was stitched closed. He was healing up nicely until his sister Jasmine attacked him an bit his surgery site. He got an infection which we treated with antibiotics, unfortunately he began rejecting the implant and we had it removed four days ago. He's doing really well now, the skin has sunken into the empty socket, but we still think he's adorable.

Surgery Day

So Draco is just waking up from surgery, the vet said that he did great and had no problems during the operation. His X-rays and blood work are all clear so he has no underlying illness and his cancer hasn't spread anywhere else. The vet says he can come home around 4 today, so good news all around!

Tomorrow

So tomorrow is surgery day. My family is really nervous for me but I'm a tough pup so I know I'll be ok, and I know that even without an eye I'll still be a handsom dog.

My eye

I was recently diagnosed with ocular Melanomas in my left eye. They hurt pretty bad, so my parents have decided to remove my eye. My surgery is on this coming tuesday. Wish me luck with my surgery.
